My Mental Choices Are Completely Interfering With My School Romantic Comedy
俺の脳内選択肢が、学園ラブコメを全力で邪魔しているFor Kanade Amakusa, life as a high schooler should have been normal, and it would have been—if he wasn't living with the most ridiculous curse imaginable. “Absolute Choice," a system forced upon him by a self-proclaimed god, randomly presents a mental selection of actions that he must act out based on his choice. To add to his dilemma, it tends to occur in the most public of places, and his options never seem to deviate from the rude and crude in nature. As a result, the helpless boy stresses through each day, fumbling to repair his already tarnished reputation while desperately praying to avoid the next spontaneous episode of Absolute Choice. To his dismay, the one in charge is always one step ahead of him and proceeds to not-so-subtly "choice" him into the lives of several girls at his school. Just when Kanade's school life can’t seem to be doomed any further, a decision that he reluctantly selects on the way home sends a beautiful girl crashing down from the sky, along with the promise of more hysterically hellish choices. Seriously the funniest anime I’ve watched in my entire life. Loved every minute of it! The plot was interesting, the school “wars” were exciting and the funny scenes were just… idk, but I’d marry this show if I could lol.

It's simply, basically, eminently, a funny and absurd comedy school life of a boy highschooler. First appearance as light novel on 2012 followed by manga in the next year, both writtern by Takeru Kasukabe. The animation version has 10 eps on Fall 2013 and 1 OVA released on May 2014.
Straight to the plot! The harem story of a boy who surrounded by few ‘weird’ girls in his school, and he is known by the entire school itself for making so many fusses. The boy is suffering from a curse called “Absolute Choices”, it gives him two or more choices, he is not permitted to not choose one of it immediately or he will suffer from the extreme pain more than just a normal headache. Often, or mostly, the funny parts come from his undeniable choice, such an abnormal choices and circumstances he has to bear no matter what. This extreme school life of a boy and few girls I can’t even imagine myself being stuck in the bunch of “freak” peeps.
{SPOILER} To get rid of the “Absolute Choices” curse he agrees helplessly the chance God sends to him through a girl who’s falling from the sky in a random sunny day. Did I wrote ‘God’? Yeah it exactly is as you read. The ‘God’ appears normally as a minor character like in other series, but this one, this God, gets through him via cell phone. The notifications are the tasks Kanade Amakusa—the name of the boy-must do, and forbid any failure, he needs to accomplish it during the given time, otherwise Kanade will not have any chance in the future to eradicate the curse. Along with the clumsy Chocolat—the name of the falling girl from God-they try to finish every absurd tasks, perform unimaginable tasks in Kanade’s school life.
There are not much, just few supranatural thingy, I mean like simple magic tricks, pop-up things and other simple stuffs shown in the series. The genres are comedy, school life, slice-of-life, and ecchi. I describe the ecchi-ness in this show as indicate sexual appeals from those girls, and the harem scenes appear like tons of comedy scenes. The characters surely affect the whole show since it’s about comedy, so the problems, personalities, situations, the feels, from extremely varied cast are needed to give the best comedy scenes. I might say it’s above average but not too high, yes it is funny however. As usual, the ecchi-ness sometimes bothers me, because in few scenes it feels off or they shouldn’t be there and it can be more funny w/o that way.
The theme songs are..ummm maybe fun, and it's catchy. It's hard to describe, can't find the right words for it. By the way, the OP is sung by Afilia Saga "S・M・L☆" & the ED theme "Taiyou to Tsuki no Cross" (太陽と月のCROSS) by TWO-FORMULA (Kaori Sadohara & Saeko Zougou).
The rating I give is 5 ! You can choose this one for fun, watch it when you're bored can relieve your bad day.
Pros:
- Funny, such a ridiculous story
- Good graphics for school life story
Cons:
- Sometimes the funny scenes feel off or too harsh
- The main point here just the humour and ecchi-ness

Nocome is different. It was funny and interesting, but it needed to be longer and was cut too short, It developed too fast for itself and did that thing where a lot goes down in the last episodes rather than happening over the whole series. Too many loose ends which always annoys me, it could have had another 2 episodes at least to finish off.
Overall, funny and different for most episodes and a good 'pass time' anime.

I wont make a long review about this anime.
I loved it, not just because of a very creative idea ("CHOOSE!") but also because of a humor that doesn't take itself seriously and somehow giggles himself while making a joke.
The art style is clean and "fresh" and Chocolats boobs shine in the sun....yes. That's what they do...but if you watched animes for some time now, it's nothing that looks weird anymore
Sadly, this is a short anime and the end is open somehow which made me a bit disappointed.
I would still watch it again anytime. Because it is light, funny and enjoyable.

I was pretty narrow-minded when I started this anime. Reading the premise, I was sure that after about 1 or 2 episodes in I'd give up and just drop the series altogether, adding it to a list of what I deem to be a waste of time. But right after the first 5 minutes or so I was hooked on the humor of the series. Now as with all series it's definitely not perfect (the story's just a mess), but if you're looking for a short-ish, humorous anime that doesn't really have a point, give this a shot.
STORY
The story is definitely the weakest part of the anime. It's your generic harem--the main gets all the girls, yada-yada. However there is a unique characteristic which is the situation the main (Amakusa Kanade) is placed in. Basically, a set of choices pops up in his head and he must choose one to carry out or else suffer unbearable headaches. Now this is what makes the series interesting, the sheer absurdity of the choices. And it acts as the catalyst for most of the story as well.
Hmm....Which to choose...
CHARACTER
The characters themselves aren't your most unique characters either. You have your usual mix of characters like a tsundere, imouto-type, etc. What makes them unique though is how far they go with their "tags" and the gags they would make within the anime. And that's where the charm comes in. In summary, the majority of the characters are hilarious and help lend to the overall absurdity of Noucome.
Which one would you choose?
Animation/Sound
The animation for the show is pretty middle of the line. Nothing's excruciatingly painful to watch like Aku no Hana, but it's not beautiful like Makoto Shinkai's works. The character designs are pretty generic as well, but hey, it's something to watch if you want a ton of cute girlies. Same goes with the s
oundtrack--everything's not bad, but not great either.
ENJOYMENT
So how can something with such a generic plot, character--heck, everything, be so fun to watch? It's in the execution and humor. The absurdity of the anime actually helps gloss over the repeated story and characters to a large degree. Now there were points where the show was just dry as sand, but they lasted only for mere moments and more humor was after those short, interspersed parts. And the humor was gut-splittingly funny at times, which was basically most of the time. And what makes it better is that it actually pokes fun at other anime tropes that are poorly executed. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the funniest anime I've seen in a LONG while. So if you're in for a real treat if you decide to watch this hidden gem.
Actually making fun of some censoring techniques used in anime!
EVEN STEVE JOBS APPROVES.

Just to be clear, 5 isn't a bad score; I'm only saying this show is average.
Harems have always had a bad reputation among people due to their lack of originality. Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru, or NouKome, is no different and is almost exactly what you would expect it to be. It's definitely nothing groundbreaking, as most would expect from a harem, ecchi show. I was originally pretty hyped for this show because the synopsis was interesting and I thought this "absolute choice" plot point described in the synopsis would create some pretty hilarious situations. I was correct in this assumption, but as it stands, NouKome is still generic and littered with tropes you often find in harems. Even though it lacks originality, the high amounts of comedy is something worth mentioning, so you shouldn't dismiss NouKome immediately.
The story for this show is mediocre, though it is actually decently original. considering its genre. The basic premise of this show is that our main protagonist, Kanade Amakusa, suffers from a condition, or curse, known as Absolute Choice, which forces you to choose between two options that appear in your head, or else you get severe headaches. Right off the bat, you can probably understand how this element in the story allows for some pretty hilarious moments. Unfortunately, even though this show is quite funny, it still lacks an actual plot. The story doesn't ever go anywhere, and even though Kanade really wants to fix his condition, he doesn't by the end of the show. Granted, this could be to allow room for a second season, though I don't believe there is one announced. This show is listed as a romance, but that's a bit misleading. Most of the girls fall for him, but, to everyone's dismay, he never chooses one of them. The high point of this show is comedy, but some of the jokes simply fall flat, or get watered down by the ecchi elements. It also ends with an obligatory, harem beach episode and its full of extra fanservice. Anyway, you shouldn't try and watch this show for its amazing story line for it has none.
The show is animated fairly well, but so are most shows nowadays. A strange trend that I see in anime that this show has is how everything seems "shiny." Hair, clothes, and skin often reflect so much light that it masks them in a blazing glow. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but everything is still shiny. All the light also seems to have a red tint. It's pretty noticeable, however, it shouldn't detract too much from the anime. Characters move fluidly for the most part. There's really nothing to complain about. I mean, nothing moves like a robot, so you shouldn't be bothered by it for the most part. Every character is drawn pretty well, though they seem to constantly blush, which could annoy some people.
The voice acting is nice, but a lot of the girls have a squeaky, high-pitched voices. It feels like all of the girls are voiced by the same person. The acting isn't bad, but some of the voices get annoying over time. You could also say the voices are cute, so the squeaky voices could be considered a positive. Nothing else of note comes to mind concerning the audio. The music for the OP and ED are actually decent, but nowhere near exceptional.
As you might expect, a lot of the girl's characters in this show are based on generic, harem archetypes. Though, honestly, the girls are unique in some ways and offer a relatively unique twist on their base archetypes. Let's first talk about Kanade Amakusa though: our male lead. I hate to say this, but he's also pretty much another generic archetype. Which archetype? The male lead archetype that is oblivious towards all romantic feelings directed towards him. I'm less mad at the archetype now than the fact that Kanade's barely an original character. Kanade is also kind of snarky and snide. All the girls want to marry him, and he is oblivious of this: that sums him up. Back to the girls. By the fact I constantly refer to them as "the girls," you should understand that they are essentially one big character. To the shows credit, they are pretty quirky in their own way. Chocolat, our female lead, is as funny as she is gluttonous. She fall from the sky in order to help Kanade with his Absolute Choice. She fails at it and that makes her somewhat likable. Most of the time though, character's like Yuouji and Yukihira are just targets for various missions Kanade is given to complete. By the way, Kanade completes missions to prevent him from being stuck with Absolute Choice forever. I don't know how it works, but NouKome doesn't bother explaining it. He's assigned these missions by God who is pretty much the pinnacle of awesome. God is, well, God. He loses points for not letting us see his face though. I should also mention the existence of the Reject 5 and Popular 5. Kanade and much of his harem happen to be in the Reject 5 for they do strange things. Kanade is often forced into those actions because of Absolute Choice.
Character's don't seem to develop in NouKome. They exit the story the way they enter and that proves to be pretty annoying. Again, don't expect much from the story.
It's not like this show is not enjoyable. It's far from it. Characters like Kanade will peeve you off, but its bearable so we can try and ignore it. If you can get past Kanade and his obliviousness, you get to the meat of this show: it's comedy. Some occasional jokes aren't too funny, but most of the humor is chuckle-worthy. Also, most of the complaints I have only become relevant in the last few episodes of this anime, so the first, around 4/5 of NouKome is enjoyable. They really crank up the fanservice in the last portion.
In the end, Noukome is a harem that's got humor going for it. If you have a lot of harems you would like to watch, NouKome should probably be on the top of all those. It's better than a various assortment of harems, but it's still nothing special. Luckily, it's only 10 episodes. I still wouldn't recommend marathoning it, but I would recommend watching it in small doses if you're into harems. Overall, I would say NouKome is an average anime, but fine for people who like ecchi and harem.

This anime had me laughing every episode and it was a treat to watch this show every week! If you have not watched this anime yet, heres some reasons why you should. Lets get to the review!
Story 9/10
For all the people who say this story is a train wreck or somewhere along the lines of that, it is definitely not! Even if some things are not explained, the story is great and refreshing as it is not your generic harem school setting and the mental choices give a real flare and comedic aspect to the story. The only downside to the story is that it was only 10 episodes and I hope there will be a second season to explain the rest of the plot holes and my questions that I still have.
Animation 9/10
No complaints at all with the animation. I am the kind of person that watches anime that are well animated, otherwise it really puts me off the show. Noucome however, was great and although I never thought that it was the best looking anime of this fall, I still found it very enjoyable to watch nonetheless.
Sound 10/10
I do not really choose an anime for the music or anything and I have no complaints whatsoever and I really liked the Opening and Ending. Both are quite catchy and dat electric guitar in the Ending!
Characters 10/10
I loved all the cast in Noucome and I often found it hard to decide who I was cheering for as this is a harem after all :3 They all were great in their own ways and I never once thought that a certain character was annoying or irritating. The MC was not useless for once (huge plus!) and everyone was very likeable.
Enjoyment 10/10
As I said in the beginning, I was laughing every episode from the ridiculous humour of the 'erabe'
(If you have not seen Noucome, you will understand what I mean when you watch it). I loved everything and everyone of the characters and overall, it was a treat to look forward to every week.
Overall 10/10
Yes, you guessed it, I gave Noucome 10/10 because to sum it all up, I enjoyed watching it! I don't care if a 10 should be a masterpiece, but in my books, if an anime makes me enjoy myself and is worth watching, it is a 10 in my books. If you have stuck around this long, what are you waiting for? Go watch this right now! :3

NouCome is an anime that runs on comedy. There are many anime that run on comedy out there, but some either fail and reuse the same comedy that was funny the first time over and over (A la Watamote a season ago), or just had horrible comedy from the start, either by using un-amusing and unfunny comedy, or just using fan service and sex jokes for the whole anime. Some of the more successful comedy anime are Hataraku Maou-sama and Seto no Hanayome.
However, what sets NouCome apart from these two successful comedy anime, is that it is all gags. In Hataraku Maou and Seto no Hanayome, there is that it goes serious atmosphere, into a humorous atmosphere, using comedy that suits the situation. NouCome pretty much has none of that.
Now, NouCome is about a teenage high schooler boy, by the name of Amatsuke Kanade. He has a curse, that random choices appear in his head at random (and worst) times, and he must choose between them. NouCome follows him and his crazy choices, as he tries to complete a series of missions in order to get rid of his Absolute Choice curse.
Kanade, of course, has many female companions, such as Chocola, his glutounous would-be-assistant if she hadn't lost her memories, Yuukihira Furano, the emotionless but actually dere flat chested girl, and Yuuoji Ouka, the very childish, busty girl who gets upset over things like having her panties seen. There are many other side characters that assist the plot (that isn't really there) and comedies along the way, such as the Onii-chan and Onee-chan girl, Hakoniwa Yuragi, and the loli teacher who also once had this curse, Douraku Utage.
While there certainly is quite a lot of characters, there isn't much behind them, as there isn't really a plot for them to develop upon. It seems that from the beginning, they all liked him, but they couldn't confess. Nothing about that really changes for the whole anime. Chocola gets some glib development later on, but nothing solid. Kanade himself doesn't really get any development. Basically, you won't be watching this anime because its plot or characters or great, but entirely for the comedy.
The animation isn't exactly great either. It isn't bad, so it's basically average. There were quite a few hiccups with the character designs, as well as the backdrops. The sound and music, however, were quite good, as well as the voice acting, which matches the characters quite well. The sounds were good as well, but the music was what stood out the most. Each scene had, "relevant" music behind it. But the piece that I enjoyed the most was the ending, Taiyou To Tsuki no Cross by Two Formula.
All in all, like I have been saying throughout this review, NouCome isn't an anime of much substance, but solely for it's comedy, which is quite good. In fact, if you judged NouCome without its comedy, you would just be left with a mess. Therefore, one must watch NouCome knowing there isn't much substance ahead, but rather a good barrel of laughs.

This is some of the craziest I've seen in a long time! Choice popping up everywhere and the results becoming more and more outrageous by every time.
I must admit, It's freakin' entertaining! xD And so freakin' funny!
The OP is my favourite OP of all time - you'll definitely enjoy it.
I simply love the way they ended this. It was so perfect! I didn't care about the outcome! Im just a bit sad.. Girls I feel your pain.

My Mental Choices are Completely Interfering with my School Romantic Comedy or "Noucome" for short is a comedy, and that is what must be kept in mind when watching it. The story is basically that the main character Kanade has a condition/curse where he is forced to choose between two different scenarios that a voice in his head tells him about or suffer physical pain. Usually the scenarios deal with him having to do embarrassing or perverted things such as taking off his shirt and running around the classroom shouting or asking one of his classmates something obscene; thus the condition makes him a reject. Two episodes in Kanade gets a call from "god" on his cellphone and is told how to rid himself of this mental choice curse, by undergoing a series of random missions. That's the basis of the story, where this show really excels however is the comedy, i find myself cracking up at least four times every episode. A lot of the comedy stems from the way the characters interact with one another. Everything about this show is designed to be bizarre from the loli teacher to the social structure of the school. If you plan on giving this series a shot at least watch the first two episodes, as the first doesn't do an amazing job setting up everything.
Also the characters are just so cute, i mean just look at this:
