Watching this dubbed will bring forth only laughter. Good medicine for anyone feeling down. It basically becomes pure comedy in dub, so I guess if you want the serious tone / original watch it subbed, but the way they were allowed to take the dub is far more interesting personally.
Story : This being a Sunday morning show it's not very interesting story wise, it's kind of a show that you'd watch as a kid to spook you from going into haunted places. such like Scooby-Doo is for kids. The dub turns it into American Adult humor, so be warned their are a decent amount of inappropriate things.
Animation : This being an old anime the animation is quite low quality, and the effects are kind of lame, but it kinda brings out that nostalgic feel of Scooby-Doo for me, which I kind of enjoyed.
Sound : Basically for me the sound is all in the voice acting of the dubbed, I find it comedically amazing, that being even though it obviously doesn't fit to well with this old style anime. It still brought tons of laughter and enjoyment. So basically if you want to watch this and get a great experience watch the English Dub.
Character : The characters in the dub are quite unique and it gives it a beautiful blend of stupidity that just makes you want to laugh.
Enjoyment : Dub or Bust.
Overall : My view on it overall was that if it wasn't turned into a comedic dub, I probably would of never watched this anime, but it totally deserves a look if you want to find some laughter in a rough day.

Ok first off this anime is only supposed to be taken like 25% serious (the dub version anyway, which honestly is a roller coaster of laughs) ok next off the voice actors of these characters were told to basically say whatever shit came to mind and we got this masterpiece, Ghost Stories which will personally always be one of my favorites because it was one of the anime’s I watched when I was first getting into anime, and because no matter how many times I watch it, it’s still super funny which is why I recommend it.

This series is almost too spooky to even speak about. I have never been so spooked before. If you are looking for a quality horror anime, here it is.

I am currently watching the english sub. I could not find the eng sub anywhere. I watched the eng dub and that was frickin' hilarious. They pretty much changed the entire script. It's a great anime!

Summary: Kids and ghosts. When young Satsuki finds an old book of spells from her passed away mother, she gains the power to fight ghosts that are haunting her new school. With the help of her friends, and of a really wicked devil cat, she must protect everyone around her or be haunted for ever more.
Story: The story of ghost stories is very simple and episodic. Its basically a ghost of the week story where each week the gang find a new ghost and seals it. The story overall is not the greatest. I would say that if you are expecting a deep and intricate story look elsewhere.
Animation: Nothing to amazing here either. Ghost Stories doesn't use any amazing animation but the question is do they really need to? Ghost Stories is not a fast past action show so I really don't think amazing animation is needed for this show. For a ghost of the week type story I would say the animation is good.
Sound: The intro if anything is very catchy. Also the music really sets the mood well. But, lets talk about the best part of this show the dub. The dub of this show is basically an abridged version of the original Japanese sub. The cast does a lot of improve with this series and adds many pop culture references to every seen. Really this is probably the only reason to watch this show. Without the dub I could not say this show is good at all.
Characters: The characters are very stereotypical and don't get much development over the course of the series. Each character as a set archetype like the good christian girl or the Jewish kid and ect. Basically the characters are only their to add to the jokes of the series.
Enjoyment: I really enjoyed the dub of this series. I didn't laugh at every joke and not everyone will. But, I think everyone can find at least a few episodes very funny.

This is my first video review. It's a bit rough since it's my first, but I think it gets my point across.

Please note that if you watch this series, you absolutely have to watch the English Dub by ADV. Anything else is going to be excruciating to watch.
Ghost Stories is a show that revolves around young Satsuki and her group of friends. The premise is much like Scooby-Doo. There is a monster of the week that the group has to deal with, and all is resolved by the end of the episode. However, the thing that sets this show apart is the dub. The original show was poorly received (and poorly animated) in its home country, so ADV was able to pick up the license at an extremely cheap price. They then decided to give the American voice actors free range to say whatever they wanted. The end result is much more like South Park than Scooby-Doo. Anyone and everyone is made fun of from fanatical Christians to Christian Slater. Jokes are made about poor animation quality, anime cliches, and everything else under the sun. If you aren't easily offended, then you will find one of the funniest anime productions of the last 10 years.
