Star Driver the Movie was a good summary/refresher of the Anime, but I DEFINITELY recommend sitting down and watching the anime if you have the time, the movie doesn't do the series justice.

As a person who hasn't watched the original series I was really confused with what's going on in
Star Driver the Movie. The beginning is a fast-paced action scene which immediately catches your attention and makes you want to see more. It's needless to say that during the whole movie there are other battles which make your blood boil as the animation and movement are captivating and leave you fascinated. The character design is nice; the animation is smooth with some really high quality moments but the soundtrack isn't something special or atleast it didn't leave me any impressions. The plot, however, is too complex or for the very least is too detailed for it to unfold its full potential for just 2 hours and a half. There are a lot of points that were left unclear and the explanations for a lot of things were what the series was mainly lacking. The story as a whole is somewhat original but there are some things that are just too silly (e.g. the power of 'libido'). The friendship theme was solid whereas the romance was a bit undesirable.

All in all, I enjoyed watching Star Driver the Movie, although there were things that it was certainly lacking in.
