Honey and Clover is probably one of the few animes where I can sit back and say "Hey! This are real people." This show was at times bittersweet, at times painful, and at times incredibly funny, and I could go from tears to laughter in the same episode (Man, that Morita.) All of the characters were likable and I could find something in most of them I could relate with (more so with some than others).

I hear people classify this as a romance, but really, most of it is unrequited love. Not that there isn't any romance in it, but, well, I won't dwell into spoilers.

A must watch for any slice of life anime watchers. Hey, even if you don't like slice of life, watch this. It's that good.

Honey & Clover was the most pleasant surprise I had in the past few months or so. I really didn't expect it to be THAT good. Here's a few points about it:

Both the characters and the relationship between them are well written and I can't think of a flat character among the main ones (Takemoto, Morita, Hagu, Yamada, Mayama and Shuji).

The college and work challenges and some love triangles take the most part of the show. An odd thing is that to me the lead character (Takemoto) was rather uninteresting until the end of the first season. Also, Hagu cab be annoying sometimes, but not enough to make her a bad char.

The soundtrack also stands out in Honey & Clover. Right in the first episode there is a remarkable scene with the OST. The OP-ED are unusually good, with references to other movies/series, like Beetlejuice, which I found interesting.

I'd recomend it to anyone, one of my favorite animes.
