ポケモン・ザ・ムービーXY『光輪（リング）の超魔神 フーパ』One hundred years ago, Dahara City was beset by a terrible calamity brought on by a great power. The city was saved when a mysterious man sealed that power in the Prison Bottle, and became peaceful. In the present, Ash and his friends arrive in Dahara City, where they meet the mischievous Pokémon Hoopa as well as its human companion Mary. However, when Mary's elder brother Barza discovers the Prison Bottle in the desert and multiple Legendary Pokémon appear in the city, the battle of a century ago restarts, triggering a cataclysm that forces the appearance of even more Legendary Pokémon, drawing Arceus into the fray. i saw this at my local library’s kids movie section and was like “what the heck i havent seen a pokemon movie in a while.”
watch this if you really like pokemon or you like those mass crossover episodes where they reference things that have happened in the past. or both.
so nothing really happens here. or, well, something happens but then everything is magically fixed and no one ever talks about it again. the whole thing was basically:
“oh no, giant hoopa summoned ___ legendary pokemon! Let’s summon our own!”
and then
“oh no, we have broken the laws of time and space by summoning all these cool gods.” and then Arceus comes out of nowhere and takes everyone away and fixes everything. that’s it.
at least the animation was good, but for some of the chase scenes there was obvious cgi use.
