進撃の巨人 悔いなき選択Many years before becoming the famed captain of the Survey Corps, a young Levi struggles to survive in the capital's garbage dump, the Underground. As the boss of his own criminal operation, Levi attempts to get by with meager earnings while aided by fellow criminals, Isabel Magnolia and Farlan Church. With little hope for the future, Levi accepts a deal from the anti-expedition faction leader Nicholas Lobov, who promises the trio citizenship aboveground if they are able to successfully assassinate Erwin Smith, a squad leader of the Survey Corps. As Levi and Erwin cross paths, Erwin acknowledges Levi's agility and skill and gives him the option to either become part of the expedition team, or be turned over to the Military Police, to atone for his crimes. Now closer to the man they are tasked to kill, the group plans to complete their mission and save themselves from a grim demise in the dim recesses of their past home. However, they are about to learn that the surface world is not as liberating as they had thought and that sometimes, freedom can come at a heavy price. Based on the popular spin-off manga of the same name, Shingeki no Kyojin: Kuinaki Sentaku illustrates the encounter between two of Shingeki no Kyojin's pivotal characters, as well as the events of the 23rd expedition beyond the walls. The long awaited 2 part OVA is here!
Since Attack on Titan was such a hit back in 2013, people naturally wanted more. One of the things it spawned was a manga that focused on Levis backstory, one of the most iconic characters of the show. And now the manga has finally arrived in anime form.
Story
Like mentioned above, the story is about Levi's past.
The first episode explores the underground city in the wall, where there is not sunlight, and many try to get to the surface, either legally or by illegal means. It introduces us to the main three characters of this anime, Levi, Farlan and Isabel. This episode shows us the few people that Levi actually cared for in his past, and what actually brought him to join the Survey Corps.
Second episode is about life in the Survey Corps for the first time and the experience of going outside the walls on expeditions, this is where Levi becomes who he really is today...
Art
It's the same art from the main anime, slightly improved. This does not mean it's bad, it's still very pretty. The movements when they go in with their gear is truly amazing, especially in the urban scenes. The action is there, and it's what we have come to expect from this series.
Music
Done by Hiroyuki Sawano, like before, and it still gets me. All of the soundtracks are back, and they fit the many scenes so well. Good that they kept it.
Overall, it's a nice add on to the series, with gorgeous visuals, epic music. The only problem I would say is that it's too short, only two episodes for a fan favorite character is kinda disappointing, only if they decided to make the final episode a one hour special. Still a nice OVA, that you should see if you are a fan of the anime, it won't take too much of your time, but if you enjoy it you will be craving for more to satisfy the need until the 2nd season comes.

Fantastic OVA to the Attack On Titan series, but that ending though (not going to spoil anything, don't worry). Levi's background is so interesting to learn about and it's funny how he was technically a thief in the beginning. It's sad to watch what happens to him in the second part, although you learn why he acts all mean and stubborn in the main series.
The OVA had some really emotional music I really enjoyed and I hope that they can release the soundtrack for it.
This is an amazing thing you should watch if you are a fan of the Attack on Titan series and want to learn more about Levi and Erwin... and sort of Hanji's...past

This ova is about Levi's life before he was in the squad.. To be honest i didnt think it woude be this good,and i cant wait for the 2 part of it.
