It’s always nice to watch movies from time to time because it really let’s you soak into the story line in one single strand of time. I never rate
things out of 10 unless it’s a favorite of mine, but for this one, Doukyussei stands on its own; separate from all my favorites.

Right from the beginning it throws you back to the early summer haze of high school. This was especially from the animation–bouncy thin lines, no
heavy shading, and light weight colors. It’s pretty realistic and stands on a more relate able level. The fact of the matter is it’s completely and utterly
honest.

It’s a simple movie on the naivety of high school love and self discovery. There isn’t anything I can really critique because it checks off at
everything you expect from it and even a bit more. It’s raw and the exchanging of emotions really shows between the characters. The OST is lovely as
well and it may have struck a bit of a stronger cord with me because I was sitting on my couch on a Saturday while it was raining haha.. In all, I
would really recommend Doukyuusei to others looking for something simple in the romance scene with nothing too sappy or melodramatic.

Edit: One note looking back on this movie was it is a movie so it feels as if everything is going extremely fast. Which of course has to cause it’s not a full production anime. I respect that it is well-paced, and look forward to watching it again soon.

I was so happy when this first came out and now that I've seen it, I must say that it exceeded my expectations. A-1 Pictures did a really great job adapting the manga, and I must say, even surpassing it. Almost everything about this anime was just how it was supposed to be. The art was gorgeous, the animation was very well done, fluctuating between the silly, fluffy movements of the characters and the serious moments that were full of details. The sound was nice and calming, creating the perfect atmosphere for a summer slice-of-life peacefully vibe, and the voice actors were well chosen for their roles, really fitting the characters. Compared to many other shounen-ai animes, this one managed to be more realistic, cute and it wasn't awkward at all. I just love the way their relationship develops throughout the entire movie. Doukyuusei is now in my favorites list.

Did I enjoy it? Yes

Would I recommend it? Yes, watch it, it's good

It was beautiful ,yet very simple. The music was so calming at points I almost fell asleep. I extremely enjoyed the dramatic parts where the story would pick up, but because it was so short it left me wanting more, but even if there was never a sequel I would still be satisfied.
