This movie is an idol based movie. It's slow paced drama with cute moments and lots of character development. Even more so, it'll mostly appeal to iM@S fans. The movie was extremely enjoyable due to seeing the idols from the series in a movie, but to those who haven't played the games or followed the show it won't stand out. From a perspective of a fan of iM@S, the movie had great story telling, though cliche at times. Furthermore, the character building was extremely strong and again, it's very lovely to see the 13 girls from 765 in their own movie. Singing and dancing is also very prevalent within this film.
In short, Kagayaki no Mukougawa is not for those who seek an anime film to fall in love with. It's for fans of iM@S or fans of idol anime.

Starts off mediocre and builds up to the performance at the end. The performance was great, and totally worth sitting through the mediocre drama leading up to it.
