You might like this if you are the edgy kind of person who likes anime that try to be “philosophical” but with no actual connection to reality.

Otherwise it’s a complete bore.

An interesting character study that provides light on the true nature of the dual existence that is Ryougi Shiki. Some of this feels ripped right from the pages of Monogatari (even though this was all written and produced before Bakemonogatari first aired) maybe this could be a hint to the influence that NishioIshin felt when writing parts of the series (likely not, though fun to theorizes from a fan's perspective).

Overall, this film has absolutely no bearing on the overall plot, hence why it is called an epilogue and was not released theatrically like the first 7 films and can weaken the overall perceptive of this piece. Though, I still feel that it lends a bit of insight and detail on a somewhat complex character that was not illuminated upon during the actual theatrical run of the films.
