Let's Nupu Nupu
LET'S ぬぷぬぷっWith four-frame comic origins, this animated title preserves the same quick pace by following the regular cast of colorful characters through separate but interwoven story lines in every episode. From Ms. Shitara's relentless but always ineffective sexual pursuit of young Takagi to the adventures of the heroicly stupid but cute Sushi Cat, you will be mystified at the silliness of it all but find yourself laughing for the same reason! Let's cut right to it...
Story:
Let's Nupu Nupu is a gag anime, so plot is secondary to laughs. There are a few simple plot lines however:
- Ms. Shitara's sexual pursuit of Takagi - basically she will do anything to get Takagi to do shameful things. Funny, especially her little schemes.
- Sushi Cat, who has multiple jobs which include acting. Different gags involved.
- The Hamster, who has to try and communicate problems to his simple human overlords.
- A few other gags, ecchi related and some not.
It's a very short anime and again the plot is thin but the ecchi comedy is thick and tasty (Innuendo implied). I feel it also embraces ecchi and hentai, which is quite uncommon.
Animation:
Hand drawn, nothing to brag about really nor is it vitally important. Gets the gags across.
Sound:
The sound effects are sufficient to get the gags across well. There is a really great rock theme that serves as a brief OP and ED, as well as going on in the background of some scenes. That theme alone makes me wish for a longer format. The seiyuus do a good job of delivering an "ecchisque" performance. No English dub as far as I am aware.
Character
Shitara is a very enjoyable exaggeration of fan-service characters. She may well be the first Shotacon main character.
The Hamster is also very cute. :3
The other characters are able to perform their gags well. Really the anime is too short to really get to know them and that's fine.
Enjoyment:
Very enjoyable 5 minute episodes. They work well as a break between anime, especially after an annoying ecchi episode and would also work well as a straight set. The entire series won't take longer than a small portion of your afternoon to watch in total and are refreshing in a light way.
Overall
In conclusion, this anime is a good short gag series, very easy to watch. Frankly if you are at least intrigued you might as well watch one episode - it being only 5 minutes long.
BTW, I have since found out that the amazing soundtrack is "Twister" by Jack & Betty. (There's a little treat for wading through my review)
