Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk
ドルアーガの塔 〜the Aegis of URUK〜It is said that every few years, there is what's known as the "Summer of Anu." During that summer, thanks to the divine protection of the sky-god Anu, all of the demons in the tower lose their power. The country of Uruk has begun an invasion of the tower in order to suppress the demons. They've built up positions inside the tower, with their sights set on getting to the upper levels. The Uruk army knows that this is the third Summer of Anu-a perfect time to launch a mission to suppress the monster Druaga once and for all. The army soldiers aren't the only ones in the tower, though. An enitre city called Meskia has formed inside the tower's first floor. It plays host not just to soldiers, but also to adventurers who have heard rumors about a legendary treasure called the Blue Crystal Rod, which is said to rest at the very top of the tower. With all these different groups in the mix, each with its own agenda, one can only guess how things will play out during this unusual summer. (Source: Newtype Magazine)

(I've only finished the first part of this anime. Ep 13)
This one a weird one for me. The character was a mixture of people I hated then began to love by ep 13 and others that I loved and then bad things happen. Not going to say what that would be a spoiler.
Plot:
The plot was very much a MMO style anime, the lingo and teams all that reminded me about the long hours spent with mates on Final Fantasy 11. It's not like Sword art online (I still need to watch but friends have said), In SAO the anime showed that the Character was playing a MMO, The tower of Druaga on the other hand only suggest it in the opening.
The comedy is best to just not think about it. The joke some of the time is funny, most can be annoying. The first ep is just a 20 min comedy show and it fun but it also shows "some" of the annoying things in the show. I've got the MVM box set so in it's extra It has the other first ep, which show what was happening along side the real first ep which had me laughing more then the real ep. I think that was me cause everyone different (might be cause it reminded me of the stuff that happens when we was raiding XD )
Towards the 13 episode mark the plot has become more serious and I would need to watch more, to see how it will play out before I would feel better to comment. Their was a few ep early on with serious tones to it but they were few and far between.
Animation:
The animation is good at best, It's gonzo when they want to shine they do and they do cut the corners when they think your not looking. It got a beautiful colour palette when need be, Basic when not; typical gonzo style. Compared to anime like Fate/Zero and SAO it get blown out of the water.
Music:
The music is a mixture of strong and beautiful dark pieces with violins, Piano pieces and Trumpets etc to the more up beat silly one for when the comedy on show. I like the soundtrack it what you would mostly hear in RPGs such as FF and Tales of series. (and makes great music to listen to as you level up your pokemon)
For the opening it one of my faveroute right now. It light hearted jumpy and when the middle part start I can help but smile and bounce my head to the music. ( The opening called swinging) I haven't got to the second opening so I can't comment on it for this moment.
The ending is ok, Fun to listen too but I do skip it when watching. This ending got a Yu-Gi-Oh theme feeling to it as well.
I've just had a little look around and saw that Kenn did the ending for this anime and Yu-Gi-Oh GX second ending, so that why. :D
Overall and my Enjoyment:
Overall It's best to watch this anime with your brain half turned off and not to expect the best. It a fun couple of series but it not work of the gods. I've had fun watching it and I'm looking forward to watching to the end. I'm not sure how this added drama is going to affect it so I can't comment but I'm hoping for a least entertaining and wrapped up ending.
P.S Any spelling mistake or grammar just let me know. Being dyslectic and 4 in the morning doesn't help make the most understanding review.
