僕は友達が少ない NEXT

The Neighbor's Club—a club founded for the purpose of making friends, where misfortunate boys and girls with few friends live out their regrettable lives. Although Yozora Mikazuki faced a certain incident at the end of summer, the daily life of the Neighbor's Club goes on as usual. A strange nun, members of the student council and other new faces make an appearance, causing Kodaka Hasegawa's life to grow even busier. While they all enjoy going to the amusement park, playing games, celebrating birthdays, and challenging the "school festival"—a symbol of the school life normal people live—the relations amongst the members slowly begins to change... The ending got me like “-_-“

Why almost every romance anime ends up like this? Kinda frustrating.

Overall this one is good, nice story in this season and a lot of improvement in the drawing style. The only problem is the ending.

10/10 going to watch again if there’s another season of this ^^

This anime has some funny bits, and is a self-aware parody in many ways, but manages to out retard the retarded shows it's trying to poke fun at. It has some good ecchi scenes as well is all around pretty amusing. But then it ends with some weird ass fucking mind marbles straight up murdering the MC on the roof, then he'd gonna talk to blondie about his feelings but cunt face texts everyone "I'm running away like a bitch. Cum find me, lulz" Series over. I guess just read the manga is how I'm supposed to interpret that, but that was no way to end a season. I'd love to rant forever about how terrible the ending is, but for anyone who thinks a bad ending can't ruin a good show, think of it this way. You've got a three course meal. Caesar salad to start. Good, fresh, crisp with a bit of zip to it. Then your main course is a big fat juicy porterhouse steak. Medium rare and seasoned to perfection. Then for desert, they choke slam you, pin you to the ground, and force feed you a mouthful of steamy cow shit. Kind of ruins the meal, doesn't it? If not, please don't invite me to dinner you freak. If so, take my advice and stay away. Stop at the end of season 1 and be happy. If a third is announced, then that will be its chance to redeem itself, but for now, this is not worth your time if you want any sort of emotional payout for the time you've invested. If you just want to be amused and see a couple of ecchi scenes, by all means, enjoy your cow shit.

This show was fun to watch. Character development was ok I guess. Not into harm/ecchi shows but this one does nicely. The was like the Kawai complex guide to manors and hostel behavior, though it was more distinct in one sense. Over all something to watch if and when you've run out of your regular routine anime.

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT had almost no climax, no good plot, and a horrible ending.  Overall this anime was enjoyable, but lacked in many areas. Certain characters completely turned a 8/10 into a 5/10. I would definitely liked to see more humor because if it included humor, it would be much more "watchable" (there was almost no romance, comedy, teachings, plot, or character base.)

5/10

Boku wa Tomodachi NEXT (which will just be referred to as "NEXT" from now on), is the second season of the anime. It continues following the Neighbor's club in their quest to find friends.

There is no real story per-say. A good portion of the anime is spent on getting ready for the school festival. Since you probably will only watch this if you've seen the first season, it remains pretty much the same. Yes, it still remains a comedic harem at heart. There are several plot points tossed in to increase the drama between the members. While in some shows these could be seen just to force the issue, each of them are well placed and help to increase the development of each character.

The characters is where the show really makes its mark. All of them have very distinct personalities as seen from the last season. The show also goes to some lengths to give each one a little more development than before. On top of this, each character gets more likeable to a certain extent.

The animation is superb. The show has a nice vibrant look, but the detail on the characters is especially impressive.

This season builds and improves upon the first in every possible way. It also leaves you off on a cliffhanger, which means a third season is very much possible.

After watching Haganai, and then it's second season I think it is safe to assume that the second season was better than the first. Although there is no plot, each episode can not completely be considered episodic. It is basically just business as usual for the "Neighbor's Club", but I found the second season more worthwhile. In the first season there was mindless comedy, humor, and some good laughs to be said, but in the end of the a day it wasn't necessarily worth remembering.

The Story (3/3) and the Characters (7)

Haganai Next took the characters from the last season, and actually gave them depth, meaning, and changed their world view. There was actually drama, actual tension, and the club fought against outside forces only to be essentially destroyed by the inside by well the dumb main protagonist. Most harem shows don't take the route that Haganai Next took, and not only was it well written, but it was well played out. A lot of people complained, about the ending, but even if we forgive that the series is based on an ongoing light novel series, there is still a lot to talk about. The ending was good, because it had a better climax and reveal than the 1st season which was a no-brainier and ended up being pretty weak. The climax of this season had me much more interesting in the characters and had something at stake. So, overall better climax and character development, but still chaos with brain-dead harem protagonist who is too dumb for words.

In closing, Rika's quote, "After all, we're already your friends, aren't we?" is probably the best thing that was said in the final episode. Because I was thinking that this whole season.

I don't think I should really go in detail with the music, which was just memorable and I gave it a 9/10 for both being something I can listen to and enjoy. I will probably remember the themes for quite sometime. The Animation was also pretty good quality, and it did have good production values. So that is why the animation gets an 8, also the censors were done smart and not stupid like in a few other shows.

Oh, I don't have many friends... Kind of a weird title to slap on a novel, let alone an anime. And NEXT, well, let's just say calling it Haganai 2 would have been too lame. Back in 2011, Haganai proved to me that romantic comedies still have it in them. Instead of the usual harem scenario where every girl is a bishoujo, cute, and pretty much goddesses; Haganai's heroines are ruthless, creepy, sadistic to say the least. At least that's the reason I really like this show.

NEXT picks up straight after the end of the first season, with Yozora revealing to Kodaka that she's Sora, the girl (boy) that played with him way back when. Interestingly, the revelation is shrugged off in a while. And that's the thing that really bothers me in this season. Everytime some twist happens (and there's lots of them), they seem to forget it by the NEXT episode... (Get it. Next... ok, that was lame) I'm making a mountain out a molehill here, but it somehow bothers me. And the other thing that bothers me is the main protagonist being a prick, but that's just like him. It's not like he's the protagonist of a harem comedy, right? Kodaka being a dunce and socially awkward is acceptable, but the whole "Sorry, I didn't catch that" method is way too overused.

Now, on to the good stuff. NEXT adds a bunch of new characters in the mix, including the tiny Yusa Aoi, a girl who's jealous of Sena; Maria's sister, Sister Kate, who's a babe; and the student council president. I love how these characters mix well into the series, albeit some appear a bit late, but they prove themselves as the main attraction of Haganai: well-built and fun characters. I also love the seiyuus, especially Kanae Itou as Sena, and all of them grace us with a cheery opening theme.

Another thing I like is how the series depends so little on fanservice. There IS fanservice here and there, but it's pretty downplayed which is actually a good thing considering how animes solely based on ecchi scenes are sprouting out of the ground these days.

Haganai doesn't have the impact of the first series, and has a rather normal plot with a couple of twists here and ther. But the core of a series lies in its characters and Haganai delivers well.

Favorite character: Yusa Aoi. Just because she's so adorable.
