There isn't much to say about this except that it looks and feels just like an extra episode. One reason for this is, that the show is mainly episodic and never had an overall story-arc to begin with. So adding an extra episode is not a problem.
As an episode the special itself is ok. It features the entire main cast in one last battle with a monster and if you liked the main show you will definitely like this as well. Just don't expect any major reveal or development.
