JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders
ジョジョの奇妙な冒険 スターダストクルセイダースYears after an ancient evil was salvaged from the depths of the sea, Joutarou Kuujou sits peacefully within a Japanese jail cell. He's committed no crime yet demands he not be released, believing he's been possessed by an evil spirit capable of harming those around him. Concerned for her son, Holly Kuujou asks her father, Joseph Joestar, to convince Joutarou to leave the prison. Joseph informs his grandson that the "evil spirit" is in fact something called a "Stand," the physical manifestation of one's fighting spirit which can adopt a variety of deadly forms. After a fiery brawl with Joseph's friend Mohammed Avdol, Joutarou is forced out of his cell and begins learning how to control the power of his Stand. However, when a Stand awakens within Holly and threatens to consume her in 50 days, Joutarou, his grandfather, and their allies must seek out and destroy the immortal vampire responsible for her condition. They must travel halfway across the world to Cairo, Egypt and along the way, do battle with ferocious Stand users set on thwarting them. If Joutarou and his allies fail in their mission, humanity is destined for a grim fate. (Source: MAL Rewrite)

This remake version of JJBA:Stardust Crusaders(Previously known as JJBA OVA) was perfect. I will review my order below.
Story plot is interesting and ridiculous at the same time. You might be thinking how both of these words can fall together but JJBA:SC will show you otherwise!
Basically the story consists of the same structure where they mark their destination then along their journey, there will be different kind of enemies awaiting for them. The main thing isn't about who will be the ultimate winner(We all know the good guys always win) but its their hilarious dialogue and fights which makes it very memorable. You just can't seem to forget that scene! Jokes aside, there are also serious fight with a comical outcome in the end!
Animation wise is impeccable! Quality, quality & quality work!! If there is no limit for its rating on its Animation I would rate it Over 9000!!
Sound effects are amazing with those brutal punches and SFXs flowing into the scenes at times.
Jotaro Kujo as the main character is just pure badass. Though slightly uninteresting as a person but that is what keeps him cool.
So far I've enjoy it so much I repeat certain classic scenes as well as comical parts. This is also the ONLY Anime(Correct me if I'm wrong) to have their nemesis all of a sudden appearing at the end of the opening scene and interfere it! So sick! Hint: Don't skip the opening at all whenever u watch it :D

I dont get why this has so high rating when its worse than the previous stuff.
Just because it has the name Jojo on it?
STORY:
I dont know if its bad writing or underestimating the intelligence of the audience.
But it seems like everytime there is a new enemy stealthily (is that a word?) trying to kill the group or something strange happening, they just say something like:
"its probably nothing"
or:
"does that puppy have a knife and is trying to kill Polnareff? Nah it cant be."
Its hard for me to explain but the main characters just seem so dumb about that. They have had that happen to them countless of times but still fall for every trick that some assassin tries on them.
CHARACTERS:
Joseph is the only one I like, and he was much better in the previous (Well Jotaro is ok too).
ANIMATION:
Very good. This is where the makers spent all their money and manpower. Especially the opening. Wow thats some good stuff.

JOJO is my all time favorite manga. Until a few years back, when I said so to anyone, NO ONE UNDERSTOOD WTF I'm talking about. Now thanks to the anime, more people know about JOJO, understand when I mention ridiculous quotes from the series, and join me on Jojo-pose photos. Yes... I can almost die as a happy otaku.... almost.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Cruzaders is one of the most epic anime I have ever seen. It goes over the top all the time, but that is what is so enjoyable about it. Whenever there was a fight seen with Jotaro in it, I would get more hyped than hyped, I can't even explain how hyped I would get in words. This anime is amazing, just go watch it.
Animation:
The animation is excellent there is no doubt about that. There wasn't a good adaptation of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure for years because of Hirohiko Araki's unique drawing style, however this adaptation captures his drawing style perfectly. You couldn't possibly ask for better animation than this.
Story:
As the title suggests the story is bizarre, but extremely original and well-though out. It is unlike many stories today, especially when you consider when the story was written. The stands are an extremely original power that you don't see anywhere else.
What I love most about the story is that it is the perfect sequel. This happens in all the Jojo parts. The story and characters are always interconnected to things that happened in the past. They make mentions of this without a single flashback (the exact opposite of other series *glares at naruto*), which is a huge plus in my opinion.
Sound:
The opening is around an 8/10, and the ending is a 7/10, but those aren't the most amazing parts of the soundtrack. The entire soundtrack is compensated by a single track, the song entitled "Stardust Cruzaders". This song appears in almost every fight that Jotaro participates in, and it is epic as fuck. You never get sick of it no matter how many times you hear it, in fact it is so good that you keep wondering when the song is finally going to come along, and when it does, you get super excited and make the volume 3 times louder. At least I did. Around 30 times.
Character:
The MC Jotaro is one of the most badass characters I have ever seen. He always keeps his head cool, and when you get him angry, he makes sure you pay.
Joseph Joestar is also awesome. He was the MC of the second part of Jojo's bizarre adventure, except here he is around 50 or so years older. His personality is similar to his younger self, but he is wiser now (he is the perfect example of why I love time skips). He has the best one liners in the entire show.
The rest of the crew is cool and all (Kakyoin, Abdul, Polnareff), but they aren't as awesome as the Jojo's. If I had to choose one I'd say Abdul is my favorite.
While there are a few enemies with great characters such as Hol Horse or the old lady who's name I cant remember, but the rest of the minor characters are mostly very similar. That's the only reason why I didn't rate characters as 10/10.
Enjoyment:
Enjoyed the fuck out of it as you can probably tell. Will probably rewatch in about 3 months before it resumes again.
Overall:
Nearly perfect and I loved it. I would recommend this to everyone. Especially if you're a big fan of badass characters and love anime OSTs.

This show already goes on my Favourite anime List just for having the name JoJo on it. Personally when I saw the preview for this second season, I was just anxiously waiting to come. I would even go as far to find the raw version of the first episode. This show is just too awesome.

At the time of this review the first half of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders has wrapped up and we’re currently waiting on the second half!
Do keep in mind that this review will have spoilers for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (2012) and minor spoilers for Stardust Crusaders. I’ll refer to past characters as if you know who they are.
Just so you know; Stardust Crusaders is the latest part of the series to get an anime adaptation or in its case; another one. The purpose of this review isn't to compare the adaptations; you could check out a few pictures or watch an episode of both to get an idea. The purpose is to tell people how the anime will be in general, though there may be others who focus on other aspects.
So what’s the story?
Stardust Crusaders features Jotaro Kujo as the main protagonist. Jotaro is the grandson of Joseph Joestar and he is in prison. The reason why he is in prison is because he believes he is possessed by an evil spirit; he refuses to leave. Joseph Joestar and his companion Muhammad Avdol know what the ‘evil spirit’ is and get Jotaro to leave. It turns out that the evil spirit is something called a “Stand”. These Stands are the core fighting mechanic in Stardust Crusaders; much like how Hamon was in previous parts. So why did Jotaro suddenly get a Stand?
It turns out that nearly one hundred years ago when Jonathan sacrificed himself to put an end to Dio he kind of failed. Dio is back and using Jonathan’s body; he wants to annihilate the Joestar bloodline before he takes over the world because he knows how troublesome they are. On the flip-side Joseph knows the history behind Dio and wants to stop him before it is too late. So the group travels across the world to Egypt, where they believe Dio is.
This and more are explained in the first episode.
How does it look?
Something to note about the anime is that it has a very manga-esque style. It also remains faithful to the original manga; this can even be seen by lining up most scenes from the anime and the pages from the manga.
This manga-like style could make it feel bland but that isn’t the case. As it stands the anime is interesting in the way it presents itself with exotic colors and different palettes depending on the scene. The colors aren’t low contrast or make anything hard to see, this and the distinct character design give it an edge against the visuals of many other anime that would have been airing at the same time.
The animation itself is great and the weight of the characters’ actions can be felt though there are moments when the CG in the anime feels off and there isn’t much in the anime as it is so it doesn’t leave much of an impact.
How does it sound?
The sound effects and voice acting are what make this anime for me. While the voice acting can feel intense there are also moments where the characters sound carefree or cheerful, to put it simply; the exaggeration in the voices is great. At the same time there are moments where the characters change their tone to fit the atmosphere and whatnot, this will be explained later. The sound effects really do synergize with the visuals and add that pzazz that gives JoJo that distinctive feel.
In my first impressions I commented on how the soundtrack might not be noticed but looking back now I would say that it isn’t right. Key songs are used at the right moments to tell the viewer that the victory is decisive, that something tragic has happened or essentially to fit the context of the scene. It does have a nice variety with over 20 songs and it does sound different to Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency.
What about the characters?
Joseph Joestar and Dio are two of the returning characters in Stardust Crusaders but they’re both different to how they were in Part 2 and Part 1 respectively.
Joseph is older and while he doesn’t have the same vibe as before he character hasn’t changed much, he does some foolish things but is otherwise thorough with plans. There are throwbacks to what happened in Part 2 and the fact that he can use Hamon.
Dio is much older than Joseph and he seems to have learnt from his naïve mistakes in the past. While he has a stand he is still a vampire so he has to stay out of contact with the sunlight. He isn’t seen much and seems to have an eerie aura surround him when he does appear on screen or even off the screen for that matter.
I can not go further without mentioning the main characer; Jotaro Kujo is a character who is synonymous the word ‘badass’. He is smarter than he looks and actually cares about others while he may not show it directly. He is serious most of the time but there are moments where he has fun.
The rest of the main cast is good as well. Their chemistry improves as the series goes as, it would make sense that you are friendlier with someone as you travel with them. We can kind of see how the characters grow together and that is something I liked about the series, you get to almost understand why they interact with each other as they do.
Is it enjoyable?
I think JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders is a very enjoyable anime. There is a lot of fun to be had with it. The animation and the whole sound department work spectacularly together which really lives up the story and characters. The story is simple and easy to follow; the fact that the Stands incorporate the tarot cards is interesting.
The fights are nice to watch and are different almost every time, the Stands do make a world of difference and add to the variety. The later fights proved how much potential Stands have when compared to Hamon.
Once again, the characters are energetic and feel alive albeit the villains are exaggerated but that is what makes the series fun as well as seeing the relationships between characters grow. I really liked how JoJo references previous parts, mentioning the SpeedWagon Foundation and Smokey Brown was nice. The explanations for how things happen for the most part are straightforward although a few things do stay unexplained.
Overall JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders is an anime I would recommend to most people. If you’re looking for something that is different, smart and fun JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure might be the series for you. I would also recommend reading the manga for all of the current eight parts. The manga is also a classic and one of the longest running series in Japan.
Feedback is welcome, help and anything else should help me improve for next time!
