Hozuki's Coolheadedness
鬼灯の冷徹Hell is a bureaucracy, and business is running smoother than ever thanks to the demonic efficiency of Hoozuki, chief deputy to Lord Enma, the King of Hell. Whether offering counsel to the Momotarou of Japanese folklore or receiving diplomatic missions from the Judeo-Christian Hell, the demon who runs the show from behind the king's imposing shadow is ready to beat down any challenges coming his way into a bloody pulp. Metaphorically, of course... The poster boy for micromanagement and armed with negotiation skills worthy of Wall Street, Hoozuki no Reitetsu follows the sadistic and level-headed Hoozuki as he spends his days troubleshooting hell. With an abundance of familiar faces from popular Japanese legends and East Asian mythology working middle management positions, this referential and anachronistic dark comedy brings new meaning to the phrase "employer liability." Just how hard could it be to manage employees from hell, anyway? (Source: MAL Rewrite)

It was a good series, a dab of history and comedy. Watching it made me remember all the Japanese folklore I learned about and seeing how little references from other animes fit in was funny. I wished there was more. The opening songs were so upbeat, it wasn’t that great but it was nice since it kind of summarized what the series had. The ending was cute in a sad way, it had a story of its own. Just like then OP it was upbeat, so it was okat
Hozuki was so well informed but because of his frown and cold expression, it was funny when he said specific things.
Enma as one of the ten kings of hell was just like an old man trying to do his job and relax. I felt bad that Hozuki seemed hard on him, but it was his job.
I loved the character design, it was very simple traditional.
Looking at the Fanart of Hozuki and Hakataku was gorgeous.
I loved the animals relationships and the side interactions with Momotaro and the others. Hozuki and Hakataku’s relationship was overall hilarious, they could’ve been friends but there was no way to stop their hate against each other. And I apologize for not shipping them, I don’t see there relationship like that. Lolol.
The ending was just like a normal end to an episode, it was nice. Kinda wish there was more, probably about Hozuki or the other characters history and past life. But hey, this was only the anime, there could be more in the manga; Maybe not who knows?

By far one of my favourite animes. So hilarious and witty every second. All of the allusions to other films, animes, video games, etc. add to the quirkiness.

A great little treat with a great outlook on hell. Plus you get the best main character I have ever witnessed. Great character designs, weird Japanese music and entertaining episodic plots.

I found this Anime to be a nice surprise, I didn't think I was going to enjoy as much as I did. It was hard not to giggle when you see the serious-minded Hōzuki carry out his duties on a daily basis, having to deal with a lazy Boss, and new recruits in the underworld, all while keeping his goldfish garden top-notch and keeping the womanizer Hakutaku in place. Every episode was fun to watch and I always either laughed out loud or had a smile the whole time. I seriously recommend this to anyone that likes good, funny, and sometimes gag anime. This is a 9/10 for me. I took out one point because I found it too short. :p
