Let me be clear here. I did not watch Blood-C for the plot or the characters. I watched for 2 reasons: Gore & Action. And I was very satisfied with this anime. But it has some serious flaws. I first heard of this anime from a friend, he didn't like it because he was a HUGE fan of Blood+

Story - 6/10

The story follows our main female protagonist Saya a seemingly normal high school girl living with her father in a shrine. During the day she goes to school and spends time with her friends at a local cafe. But when night falls she must protect her village from strange man eating monster called Elder Brains. Blood-C has no continuity with the previous anime of the franchise (Blood+). It takes the basic story and spins it around. So, is this a good story ? In a word, yes. But that becomes apparent only when you finish it. The first few episodes mainly episode 1-4 are trolling you in a very horrible way. They try to add Slice of Life in this anime, and it's really bad. It's most common in the first 4 episodes, it's probably the biggest reason why people hate this anime.There is no real story until the end, when you find out what was really going on. It focuses on the twist way to much, it leaves you in the dark. The story suffer in the beginning. Speaking of the twist at the end, it was really good did not expect it. The ending leaves you with a sourer felling, but the story continues in the sequel movie Blood-C: The Last Dark

Animation - 10/10

The animation was done by Production I.G. who are well know for the botemless pockets, they are one of the most respected studios out there. They made shows like Usagi Drop, Ghost in the Shell SAC, Psycho-Pass.

The animation was amazing it is fluid like water I think they put one of there A teams on this one. The animation during the fight scenes are incredible. Oh and the gore is amazing. This is one of the most gory animes I have ever seen! A must watch in 1080p.

The soundtrack is very good. My favorite track being the track called Destiny, a very good action track. The opening is absolutely amazing and so is the ending song.

Sub: I can't really judge the sub, considering the fact I can't speak Japanese. But the performances were fantastic in my opinion.

Dub: I thought it was well done, but I thought Tipton Alexis isn't most suited for the role of Saya. The Japanese voice actress is more believable.

Characters - 3/10

The worst part of the entire anime. The only decent character is the protagonist Saya, but she isn't much better her clumsy personality got on my nerves and she says some really stupid things. She always talks about how she is going to protect everyone, but saves a maximum of 2 people thought the anime.

The side character not only don't get much screen time, and they are boring as fuck. You find out why they are so boring after the twist, but still. This is what I mean by it focuses to much on the twist. The twins were so annoying, Yuka was tolerable, Tokizane was boring, Tadayoshi was ehhh. The main villain was pretty good I guess, he fouled me at least.

As for the "extras" they are only there to die a brutal death for your amusement

Enjoyment - 8/10

I enjoyed Blood-C. Episodes 1-4 were meh; 5-8 were good, less Slice of Life; 9-12 were great. The characters were awful and the gore is over the top, but I still enjoyed this anime. For all the wrong reasons. The last episode was a 10/10

Overall - 8/10

You will probably not like this anime, you the reader. Only watch Blood-C if you want to see a high school girl fight man eating monsters with a katana. With lots and lots of gore.

I've watched both Blood: The Last Vampire and Blood+, and I enjoyed them very much. When I heard that Clamp was going make another series, I was excited and couldn't wait to watch it.I enjoyed Cardcaptor Sakura and I was assuming Blood-C was going to be good.

Story: What story? I was able to watch only 5 episode of Blood-C and after that I toss in the towel. It was such a huge let down. 

Animation: I like Clamp's animation(once you get use to it)

Sound: It was okay.

Character: I dislike this Saya, she froze a lot during the fighting scene when one of her friends were in trouble. In those five episodes that I watched, two of her friends got killed when she froze. And she also let many more people get killed when she was standing there doing nothing.

Enjoyment: I didn't enjoy it.

Overall: It was horrible

+nice fights!, +intresting twist(isnt that basic-bitch story it seems early);
-strange ending O.o(Nah u dont see it coming), -has a fitting ending, but the story is not finished....., i guess a second season isnt coming :S

I wish there were zero's in the rating system because that is what this series would get. I still can't believe I actually watched the whole thing. Even the gore-filled last few episodes weren't enough to redeem it. I wish this had been a proper Blood+ sequel rather than the mess it was.

If there is one thing that is unique about Blood C, its that it seemed to sacrifice the entire first nine to ten episodes in order to give a strange but interesting payoff. I thought that the characters from episode 1 through 10 were extremely phony and fake. Then it turns out they actually were supposed to be.

Fighting scenes: I am not going to lie, for the first ten episodes the fights were the only reason I even watched Blood C. Blood C had some intriguing fights during its 12 episode span, while also having some that were a little meh.

Blood C is the epitome of an anime that rewards you for going through tons of crap and gives you a payoff you could at least be slightly satisfied.

I expected Blood-C to be one of the best anime of the season. I really did.Unfortunately, you grow tired of the whole charade within the first two or three episodes. It might have worked if it more time (say 24 episodes) but it was definitely not supposed to be squeezed into 12 episodes. As a result, you have an anime that goes slow at the beginning and you barely know what's happening in the last couple of episodes.Well, it is Clamp, so the art is pretty nice. Gore isn't their forte, but I can't blame them for experimenting. The OP and ED themes aren't bad either.If you're looking to watch this anime because you liked Blood or Blood+, then don't. You will hate this series. Take my word for it. If you're more open-minded about it then go ahead and watch it, but you will still probably hate it. This anime is definitely not for children, and the grown-ups would do well to avoid it too. You have been warned.
