When did they start adding vocaloid songs to hummingbird? I'm not sure, but I watched this about 4 years ago. It's one of the more known creepy vocaloid songs, because of the imagery of a Miku-like character turning into a skeletal bug monster (aka calne-ca).
Vocaloid songs are typically known to be high-pitched, especially if sung by Miku, but this one was written in a much lower tone. When I first heard it I though it was being sung by two different vocaloids, but both high and low parts are sung by Miku.
On the surface, it appears to be a song about a girl catching a terrible disease and painfully turning into a monster. If you look closely at the lyrics, you will be able to see that the disease is a metaphor for bullying. In the start of the song it sounds like a muffled group of girls laughing and gossiping before the words "Kill yourself" followed by lyrics plotting to isolate and bully her.
Summary:
A group of girls decide to bully another girl by ignoring her and embarrassing everyone involved with her. She overhears them saying mean things about her and becomes "contaminated" (she was emotionally hurt). She says she has no one to help her, "no place can cure me". In order to feel better she "contaminates" (likely bullies) another girl who was trying to be kind to her. She regrets what she did, but her judgement was clouded by "the bacteria". She tries to become "tougher" likely hurting those around her and she says she feels better, but that everyone is contaminated and that suicide wouldn't even help them. She is left alone, suffering in her new monsterous form.
There are people who dislike this song because of the disturbing visual elements, the low ominous voice, and the dark themes of the song. It never really creeped me out personally, I found the visuals bizarre in it's own fascinating artistic way and the message is definitely one that shouldn't be ignored. If they showed this back in elementary/middle school I think some kids would have been scared strait to not bully (or just plain scared...).
