This is a good follow-up to the first season. Especially since we got to see more of Kei who is clearly a fan-favorite. 

In fact I want to spend this review talking about him and his character because there is something that I like and hate about him. 

Now if you watched the first season you know Kei is a transvestite. When I first saw that I was groaning knowing that his crossdressing was going to dominate his character and make him completely flat.

I was pleasantly surprised that they actually didn't take that route. The anime just puts it aside and everyone just gets used to it. I thought that was nice. 

But then it went South because it turned out Kei was a completely flat character for a separate reason. All he EVER talks about it brewing sake. EVER! There is nothing to his personality other than that. So it may not have been his crossdressing that made him boring but it was something completely different.

Aside from that I love the cast including Kei and I hope for a third season.

Moyashimon returns is a nice followup to the original series, the animation change was slightly startling at first, but is looked past pretty quickly as the story follows up on and ties up all the loose ends of the original series.

There are alot of twists and turns, and it takes a turn away from the light-hearted nature of the original series about halfway through, but its necessary in order to tie up the story in a satisfying way.

Overall it was really enjoyable and worth sitting down and watching.
There are small educational segments, that can be abit hard to follow at times, but thats no fault to the series as a whole.

Overall, this is a wonderful series, from start to finish.
