Whilst Mirai-Hen is focusing on the war between hope (Future Foundation) and despair (Remnants of Despair) ahead of the time of Zetsubou-Hen for another future, Zetsubou-Hen explains about how everything starts. Zetsubou-Hen series gives us information about Mirai-Hen series (Future Foundation found and origination of Remnants of Despair) and hints or clues of “hope” and “despair” which are the theme of these series.

It’s just my preference, but I suggest you to watch Zetsubou-Hen and Mirai-Hen altogether. Some of you may have thought to watch Zetsubou-Hen first because the background of this series happens earlier and the beginning of everything. But watching it alongside Mirai-Hen, will not be disadvantaging because you can have your understanding clearer from Zetsubou-Hen and surprising truths that happens in Mirai-Hen. All of it connected but no need to watch Zetsubou-Hen in the first hand.
It’s just my hyphotesis, but I do believe, because of the correlation and its ups-and-down, is the reason why the series release together.

It begins two months after the entrance ceremony back in the past. Yukizome is assigned to be an assistant homeroom teacher of 77th class. This young Yukizome version in Zetsubou-Hen enjoys her time to teach in this 77th class. She even falls for the gifted students and love them all. Later she got in trouble with her student’s doing and both of them got punishment.
Yukizome who’s sent to teach in regular class as punishment found the dirty secrets of Hope’s Peak High School. It must be advantaging for her because the only reason she signed there just to find out concealed things in Hope’s Peak. She has been looking for it since she applies as a teacher.

I enjoyed myself more watching Zetsubou-Hen because of the ups-and-downs. More characters here making the series gets more emotional even if just a tiny bit, like they are being close and starts to get friendly, but should bear sudden turnover and huge secret that could change the human race.
Characters are more diverse. The plot has more development than Mirai-Hen and that’s also the reason why Zetsubou-Hen has more character improvement than another one. Eventhough the essence of this one is not located in the killing point, still the death of characters occur here.
The visualization is well-prepared, more entertaining. It’s brighter, using a lot of neon colouring (maybe because there is still happy scenes and moments), nice background too. The splattering blood, however, the same with other sequel, is purple coloured, and it made me irritated everytime lol Should I consider buying the BD version, errr?
DANGANRONPA 3: Zetsubou-Hen opening theme is “Kami-iro Awase (カミイロアワセ)” by Binaria (LINK) and the ending theme is “Zettai Kibou Birthday (絶対希望バースデー)” by Megumi Ogata (LINK).

I like both of these and listed on my playlist, especially the ED theme. It has more aura to take place for the theme songs. I do feel that the seiyuus fit right here.

This one feels more into something complete story than other DANGANRONPA series which are killing game based. It starts with explanation, continues with surprising facts, and packed with a bit of emotion. 8 I guess.

Pros:
More entertaining storyline (compared to others)
Nice voice actor/ess and theme songs

Cons:
Not too deep development

(I try to keep my reviews short and sweet and straight to the point without giving away spoilers with that said lets get this show on the road)

Story- The purpose of this anime was to explain how despair spread throughout the first Danganronpa. However, I was completely let down with the story line. I felt that the story was completely rushed. Also that certain aspects of the plot jut didn’t make sense. For example most of the characters are in high school and all of these “awful & tragic” things were happening. I started to think were are these kids parent or guardian. (Even though anime is not restricted, if an anime decides to use a certain genre in the story there are certain aspect and expectations that are group with that).

Art & Sound- The art was modern, however at some points video game visuals appeared. Sound was also good.

Character- Their was a character for ever type of personality. I liked how some of the characters were relatable. Their personalities really compliments each other. However no one character stood put from the pack and made a personal impression on me. Nonetheless, they all have a role to play.

Enjoyment- I didn’t enjoy this anime because I felt that it was so bland and didn’t make sense. I found myself watching it not because I wanted too but because I had nothing else to do.

Overall- I only watched this anime due to the fact that I have seen the first Danganronpa. I essentially just wanted clarification on certain aspects of that anime. Even though this anime did give an explanation, I felt that they just pulled it out of thin air. Complete let down.

We all knew how it was going to end. At least the ones who played or read about the second game did (like myself). Even then, this anime left me with the desire to watch the next episode so bad. Guys, that was despair. I thoroughly enjoyed this anime: plain great. Also, #ChiakiBest
