Summary:
A typical shonen you could say. Weird hairstyles, a stupid but strong main character that has a great sense of justice.
In short, giant insects are rampaging all across Japan, so the authorities made a magistrate that will deal with those insects that kill people. Young Jimbei joins the magistrate in stead of his father to fight those insects.
Nothing we have not seen before. Mankind's enemy appears, a young hero appears and goes battle them together with his "nakama". Friendship is strong. But overall the story was simple and easy to follow with comedy and some dark elements. So I decided to rate it 5/10.
AnimationThe animation was nothing special. The character design felt a bit weird but you soon got used to it. The action scenes were solid and you could figure out what was happening. Since it was not bad and not really good I give the animation an 7/10.
SoundAgain nothing special. The opening and ending were likable, especially the second ending was beautiful. The voice acting was well done (japanese). But still it was appropriate for a show like this so i rated it 6/10.
Characters:As you could see from all the pictures above this series does not lack exposed female bodies. But lets start with the males first.
Good guys:(members of the magistrate)
Tsukishima Jinbei:
The main character. He is your usual shonen main character with a strong sense of justice and he is a really hard worker. He is the son of a strong and famous samurai which motivates him to become strong like his father is. He also lusts after female bodies which is kinda natural for a boy of his age, but he is dense like a wall when it comes to relationships with them ...well like every shonen main character.
Shungiku Koikawa:
A merciless killer with a difficult past. He goes by the name The Killer of 99 since he killed over 99 people(soes not make much sense but OK). He is a badass and a really strong warrior. Even if he slaughtered so many people he is still on the good side.
Hibachi:
The only female member of the magistrate. She is a ninja who uses explosives to fight. She is your typical tsundere and fanservice target. She has a great admiration for the strongest member of the magistrate Mugai, but soon comes to like/respect Jimbei(well he is the main character doh).
Tenma Ichinotani:
Tenma is an onmyoji, who uses two shikigamis to fight. He appears to be strong and is not willing to show any weakness... but as you get to know him he reveals to be a scared crybaby. But fear not young Tenma ! The main hero is here to fill you up with friendship and courage !(no homo)
Mugai:
Ladies love him !
As we all know there is always this silent badass super strong character in shonen series. He used to oppose the magistrate but now have joined them in the fight against the evil giant insects.
Kuroageha (Princess Naa)
Ohh my favorite character of the series.
She is the magistrate or in other words the boss. She is a cute girl who is cursed by a strange power. The details are revealed latter in the series and I don't feel like spoiling now. Initially she is feeling less and always closed inside the castle. But then she meats a guy who makes her feel for the first time. That guy is obviously Jinbei(who would have thought?) .
Bad Guys:
One one side we have the insect hunters and the Ten Crucifix Insects.
The insect hunters:
A group of warriors with a grudge against the magistrate. They attack the magistrate but they make an impact only in the first half of the series.
Sanada Yukimura and his Ten Crucifix Insects
Obvious reference to Sanda Yukimura's brave ten(don't be lazy and google it).
Yukimura is the main bad guy of the series. He has a common past with princes Naa, and even if he is an insect he has an appearance similar to a human. He is your typical bad guy who thinks he is superior to everyone else.

The characters are quite standard for this type of anime which is not bad. 6/10
EnjoymentI did quite enjoy the show. The action Is quite solid, and the animation is not so bad. Well in the end this is your average shonen but with that something that makes you want to watch it.
Alongside the good action the comedy, romance and ecchi elements made this a good watch.
8/10
Final score 6/10
