Amagi Brilliant Park
甘城ブリリアントパークA mysterious but pretty transfer student, Sento Isuzu, asks Kanie Seiya out on a date to an amusement park. That park was Amagi Brilliant Park, featuring worn-down attractions and lackluster service -- the worst in Japan. (Source: Crunchyroll)

"Amagi" is a hilarious and fun show, mainly driven by its characters and interesting concept.
The overall story is creative, but some key points aren't as fully panned-out as they should be, and require the viewer to take them at face value with no deeper explanation (such as where the majority of these characters actually come from, etc). The last episode felt out of place because it didn't really "conclude" the story, and probably should have been an OVA or Special instead.
From a technical standpoint, the animation is wonderful. The use of vibrant colors and vivid backgrounds really makes the show come to life. The voice acting helps to make you empathize with the characters, but the OST didn't bring anything as "stunning" to the picture, with some tracks being note-worthy, and others being alright. The OP is wonderfully catchy, while the ED does it's job (and maybe only a little bit more).
"Amagi" is definitely a fun watch if you're looking for a slice of life/supernatural show with an interesting setting and good characters.

It was funny and heartwarming and a nice show to relax to. A happy ending was predictable, but there are no complaints in that considering how it all tied together in the end. Though leaving some questions unanswered, it still was wrapped up nicely.

I decided to pick up Amagi Brilliant Park this season for the shallow reason of Muse's stomach, but the show gave me an experience I do not regret at all.
The story of Amagi Brilliant Park is nothing amazing, and it is definitely not the aspect that sold me into watching the show. It follows a pretty generic premise, being from another world manage to get stuck doing worldly tasks--a common idea in anime. However, the show handles its mediocre plot well by shifting the focus away from it. In fact the show set itself up in what felt like 30 seconds and it never bored me; the show never thinks its audience is too dumb to understand the simple plot.
Aesthetically the show was decent. The character designs looked a lot more mature than most of the other KyoAni works--the characters look older than 12--which gave the show a fresh and grown up look. The animation itself did its job well, but there were no real cuts that blew my mind or pushed the medium of animation; it stayed rather standard.
The audio of the show also lived to a good quality. Though I personally do not like generic J-Pop, I must say the OST complimented the show well. It never felt out of place and the OP reflected the excitement of the show. However, I did not feel like any tracks in the OST were real stand out tracks; I would never listen to this OST by itself and I will probably forget it. Despite the averageness of the music, the voice actors did a splendid job. The voice actors captured the personalities of the characters spot on from the seriousness of the protagonist Kanie to the cartoonyness of the mascot characters. The voice acting added a beautiful life-like element to the show.
Despite the average aspects mentioned above, the characters are were the show stands out. Amagi has one of the most fun, lovable, and interesting cast of characters I have seen in recent anime. Each character has a lovable quirk that keeps the show interesting. The best part is that most of the characters are not even human, but anthropomorphic mascot beings, yet they are fleshed out so well such as the character Moffle. However, the worst character is the protagonist himself as he is just another generic disinterested youth thrown into a whacky scenario that leads every KyoAni show. Fortunately the show did not focus much on him at all and he acted as more of an audience insert character.
Amagi Brilliant Park's focus on the characters creates an entertaining ride. The antics between the character's interactions with each other and the guests of the park kept me with a constant grin on my face throughout the entire show. As someone who has never enjoyed an amusement park, I found that this show actually changed my perception on the concept. I always looked at amusement parks as corporate schemes to steal ridiculous amounts of money while praying on children's naive minds, but Amagi managed to show me the power of fantasy: that it is fun to live in delusion once in awhile. The happiness brought to the guests of Amagi Brilliant Park touched me to a point close to tears. I realized the only way I can live in happiness, is by making other people happy similar to the way that people from the magical Maple Land need people's happiness as a food source.
Despite the generic plot, average visuals, and average music, Amagi Brilliant park was an easy to watch, fun, and cute KyoAni show with an memorable cast and a theme that could make anyone a better and happier person.

A beautiful, colorful anime that brings laughter and hope to viewers. With fun and exciting characters and a wonderful dreamy plot, Amagi Brilliant Park is a fantastic anime that welcomes everyone. Share enjoyable moments, triumph moments and nerve wrecking moments all with the cast!

Story
Interesting story, a behind the scenes look at a magical place with a huge cast of characters. The focus is on Amagi Brilliant Park and how to revive a struggling park with one last shot to stay open. The main lead is coerced to run the park and turn this rag tag group around! Truly a magical story. The comedy is solid with mostly visual gags. Only drawback is towards the resolution with Latifa.
Animation
KyoAni, you expect great animation, but just because you expect it doesn't mean that the animation isn't great.
Sound
Sound fits perfectly with the show, happy and sad at the right moments.
Characters
This show has a huge cast but the main focus is on a good cast of characters. There is character development for the main cast. The characters are uniquely different and funny in their own way.
Enjoyment
One of the few series that I would not miss when the episode was released. I would watch it as soon as released. The show does have lots of funny memorable scenes worthy of being enjoyable.
Overall
KyoAni gives you a nice series with some good visual gags and good plot. There are some aspects that I wish the show would focus on and do a bit more with character development and back story of certain characters. With that said do watch.

Summary-
Each season I read the overviews for new anime and compile a list of those I think will watch all of. I then watch at least the first episode of every anime that comes out that season, paying special attention to those I thought I might like. While this anime didn't start off on my list of animes to watch, it is a good example of why I follow this pattern. While not the best anime I have seen, it is worth a watch if you have some free time and want some easy laughs. The most important factor to me when rating an anime is personal enjoyment, ending in my personal rating of 7/10.
Story-
The magical owners of Amagi Park have a lease stating that they may stay there as long as they maintain 500,000 guests every few years. This is their last year to meet the requirement, and with the deadline becoming ever closer, Seiya Kanie is roped into helping the park meet the requirement. While this in itself is nothing special, the anime manages to keep itself fresh with the new ways that they manage to expand, getting new guests. The show can easily be seen as episodic, and they manage to keep each episode fairly interesting. My biggest criticism is that I never felt compelled to watch the next episode at the end any one.
Animation & Sound -
While Amagi doesn't bring anything new or innovative to the anime world, it manages to do one thing very well- it keeps the bad CGI to a minimum when possible. Too many shows have wonderful plots and characters, only to ruin beautiful scenes with blatant, lazy CGI.
Characters-
I think that one of the best things this show had going for it was its characters. From Kanie to Moffle to Sylphy, each character had their own personalities and traits, and while not fully developed, helped make the characters more round to me. The biggest kicker for me was Kanie Seiyu's name as it can very easily be translated into Kanye West, an American musician famous for his lack of modesty.

Short Reviews:
Before I get started on this small review, I did enjoy this anime.
Objectively, Amagi Brilliant Park is a very monotoned anime because all it really offers is slapstick comedy. There are parts where it tries to become serious, but often fails to become serious since they move away from that seriousness to go back to their slapstick comedy. This movement from seriousness to comedy aspect might be due in part to every character in this cast, besides Moffle and Sento, being fairly childish through their actions. However, that never detracts from the fact ABP has no idea what it wants to be. Overall, ABP is an interesting anime that can keep someone busy, but until Kyo-Ani finds out what route the writer wants to take this show, you're better off finding a solid comedy anime like Azumanga Daioh or a dark anime with light comedic aspects like Welcome to the NHK.
Amagi Brilliant Park: 6/10; Solid anime. I wouldn't buy. I would only stream it or watch on TV, if possible.

Now AmaBuri is an anime I enjoy. It's fun, it's rather original and the protagonist is literally called Kanye (Kanie). Def worth a watch. I don't know how to describe it actually, just see the magic of amusement parks for yourself!

So I've been up and about reading some reviews on this show and I'm astounded at how many people just lay out the plot and attack it as though it's the centerpiece of this anime... when it's not.
This show is entirely comedic- so far, at least (although I don't see it being anything but). The setting and plot are only significant because they set a theme on what the contents of the comedy deal with. There is an established story line that deals with the saving of the park and what-not, and there are magical animals and what-have-you, but that's a hint; a hint stating that at no point in time should the plot be taken seriously. The lighthearted tone of the show and its contents give that away almost immediately.
~whew. Now, as mentioned, this show is a comedy. For the most part, comedies tend to be hit-or-miss from person to person. Each individual has their own tastes and a given style of comedy that they enjoy. As for me, this show is the funniest thing I've seen in a while.
The comedic style is accompanied wonderfully by the art. Kyoani knows what they're doing here. They understand the kind of work of art (or product) that they're making and their artists complement it masterfully (was gonna post an image but it's not working for some reason).
I love the opening song immensely, but that's as subjective as it gets. Otherwise, insert tracks and sounds in general are on point. Voice actors do a great job; each character has its own depth, and a big portion of the credit should be attributed to the actors. They're just hilarious.
Speaking of characters... they make the show. This show is basically a conglomeration of funny people and clever writing. Can't wait to watch episode 7 :)
So yeah, bottom line is: chill with the plot and enjoy the hilariousness that is Amagi Brilliant Park!

Episodes watched: 4
A guy (somehow reminding me of Lelouch) is forced to assist with rebuilding an amusement park. The employees of the park are from magic world(s?) and they need the park to get visitors or they will... Practically die out. And the park is not doing well. 3 months to get it back on its feet by getting lots of customers.
Premise is simple, plot is also simple: it's basically showing what is being done to rejuvenate the park and how people(?) in it bond over it. But this is done in a "smart" way. I mean, the guy is efficient. One of the reasons he reminds me of Lelouch, actually. But he is not a robot, he also has feelings, sense of humor, back story (in fact it seems like he does not remember part of it). And the humor is smart as well, which is good.
Characters are good: vivid, emotional, you want to learn more about them. They are cute (thanks to the art style as well). I really like the fairies, especially the fiery one (Salama). Although I'd take them all :D
The show's style is a niche one, but a niche, which is not used very often. I mean, it's economical sim at its basis. But humor, smarts and art make it a good watch. 8/10 for me.
