Pretty good looking game-based story from Netflix

Chamo, ya me estaba emocionando con estas serie y su excelente animación y su acción, y noto que solo tiene 4 capitulos D=

I’ve never played any of the Castlevania games before, and I didn’t know much about the source material before watching this TV series. However, that didn’t deter me from enjoying this show and all that it had to offer.

Castlevania is a very short TV series if you can even call it that. It felt more like a movie broken down into four episodes that tell a sort of prologue to the series. I was a bit disappointed to find that it was only four episodes and I didn’t feel completely satisfied by the time it ended due to it’s short nature. The story was a little rushed, but not enough to lower my enjoyment level, and by the end of the first season the story didn’t necessarily feel completed either. That is why I would like to stress that people view this as nothing more then a prologue to the Castlevania story instead of a fully fleshed out series. If you go into this story thinking of it as a prologue then you will probably find yourself less disappointed by the end of it if you even feel that.

I may have just pointed out some flaws that may make you wonder why even bother with this show? Well it’s quite the fun watch with all the wonderfully animated action scenes (That are quite violent too!) and I thoroughly enjoyed all the characters. I do have to say Dracula and Trevor could have been better developed, but there is a second season coming and I’m optimistic that they will delve deeper into the characters and the world of Castlevania. I hope they delve deeper into Dracula more specifically within the upcoming series.

Overall, the story was intriguing and a fun watch. I think there is a lot of potential and a second season with more episodes, which is promised already, will do the series wonders. I also think it’s one of the better video game adaptations considering I didn’t find it god-awful. I think this is a great first step for American animation in telling mature stories. There still needs to be work, but I’m optimistic that the story can be fleshed out more within the upcoming season and I would really like to stress for you to see this as a prologue instead of a completed story.
