It's quite hard for me to explain the plot for the series. I kindly recommend you for reading the plot in MAL, but still, I'll try to make a short explanation regarded this series. It happens on the time when war settles everything, the territory, ownership, status, wealth, and so on. Based in Europe, divided into five kingdoms which the hero and heroines come from Brune and Zchted, two kingdoms famous for its wealth. The hero is, Vorn Tigrevurmud, a skillful archer rules Brune kingdom got caught up in a circumstance which makes him a captive of Zchted kingdom under~the heroine~surveillance named Eleonora Viltaria who is a Vanadis. As the story goes, the hero and heroine form a sensible contract, between the name of Brune and Zchted prosperity and the story of war among countries starts.
I'll start from both the graphic or art and story I guess. Well, the story is not the typical one, many others series had amuse us with story within the times of war. Also, it's quite hard to remember all the names since it's not presented in our everyday lives. But bet me the story is as powerful as the Vanadis here. It gets its own theme for supranatural power and it is one of the charm that can be denied. Tho' I feel a bit unpleasant for the colouring because from my point of view it looks like a deep colouring of paintbrush, too deep, even the light colour seems weird when applies.
You can enjoy and guessing how the story will go and what kind of tactics are going to use by the main characters in war. And once again, the joy will be~somewhat~disturbed when the war scene begins, a scene to explain the tactics they use in war appears in form of chessboard-like. The usage of explaining tactics with that way both advantaging and disadvantaging the viewers. The advantage is, of course, we can understand clearly the moves, the plans, the tactics they use in war, while the disadvantage is this chessboard thingy will make the enjoyment of watching the war scenes bothered.
The music, ummm, SOOO.. damn indicating war theme! (゜ν`(∋─━┌(`・ڡ・´ ┌) The opening theme lyric and choir are fantastic, meanwhile the ending theme is an average for me. The OP theme titled Ginsen no Kaze (
(銀閃の風) by Konomi Suzuki, Hitomi Harada sang the ED theme Schwarzer Bogen, and for 10th ep Ryuusei Chinkonka (竜星鎮魂歌) was sung by Konomi Suzuki.
The character design seems unique but almost all of 'em~except men~has one quality, the sexual appeal. Since it's ecchi genre, no wonder why along the story, the ecchi-ness accompanies us to boost the enjoyment. Too bad the information for characters are lack and seems cut off for the duration sake.
Overall the rate I gladly give for this series is 8.3!
Pros:
- The story and alluring characters
- Good battle animation
- OP theme!
Cons:
- The colouring is somewhat less satisfactory
- Ecchi-ness is kinda exaggerating
- Chessboard (for me, it reduces the amount for enough war scenes)
*) Vanadis: a war maiden, those who has power from the Black Dragon manifested on the weapon

Quick Review
Story: Somewhat boring (so far at least). The plot and "plot" could use a little more tweaking. As some have stated before, it's not good or bad. The plot seems a little on the tame side, and some parts are rather predictable or just not as exciting as expected.
Animation: They did a fantastic job with the animation. The old character designs from the manga have some changes that make them look a lot better here in the anime. The characters take on a sharper appearance.
Sound: Nothing much to say here besides that I liked the OP + ED.
Characters: I can describe them as cool, funny, witty, awesome, powerful, adept but also as static. They don't develop much. They seem like the run-of-the-mill action characters. But they're still cool. Plus I'm a sucker for anime where the heroine isn't the damsel in distress. Quite frankly, in this anime it's almost the opposite. Except damsel in distress can catch arrows with one hand and use that very arrow to shoot someone in the face. You get what I'm saying here? They're fucking cool.
Enjoyment: My enjoyment peaked at the early episodes but stagnated as it went along. Still liked it, but the story didn't shock me or anything. I watched it and kinda said "Nice." But that's as far as it goes.

For a show labeled "ecchi", it wasn't that ecchi but, it was still worth watching.
I felt like the story was pretty good. it had a serious but now too serious tone to it I thought. There was little bits of comedy and, of course, plot shots but they didn't take away from the actual story.
The one thing I liked was the 3D figures on the map explaining the battle formations.
Assuming they make a second season, I hope they keep the same format as this season (light ecchi and comedy while keeping the tone of the story).

I liked this show, but somehow it just fell a bit flat for me. Not sure why, because I usually enjoy fantasy/battle shows in general (GoT is the bomb!).
Tigre is a young nobleman from the fictional province of Alsace in Brune. He is a highly skilled bowman, but he gets captured by a cute and busty War Maiden of Zchted named Elenora during a skirmish. She takes him prisoner but treats him very well, eventually lending him her army to defeat some unpleasant Dukes in his own kingdom with designs on the throne. Cue lots of battles and bouncing bosoms.
The animation is quality and the characters are all likeable. The story is interesting enough to hold your attention, but maybe I might have liked it more if it wasn't so tame. Overall, it wasn't bad, but just not great either.
