Escha & Logy no Atelier: Tasogare no Sora no Renkinjutsushi
エスカ&ロジーのアトリエ ~黄昏の空の錬金術士~This world has gone through many Dusks, and is slowly nearing its end. Within this world, in the western reaches of the "Land of Dusk," there was a nation that prospered thanks to its use of alchemy. There, in order to survive the eventual arrival of the "Dusk End," the people devoted their efforts to rediscover and recreate lost alchemic technologies. Rediscovered technology from the past era was gathered in the alchemy research city known as "Central," where research was conducted on how to halt the advance of the twilight. One of the heroes is a young man who researched alchemy in Central, the other a girl living in a small town on the frontier. This girl's name is Escha. In the process of using her knowledge of ancient alchemy to help others, she was assigned to the Development Department. The young man's name is Logy. Having learned the newest alchemic techniques in Central, he requested a transfer to this understaffed town to make use of his abilities, and meets Escha when he is assigned to the Development Department as well. The two make a promise to use their alchemy together, and bring success to the Development Department. (Source: Tecmo Koei Europe)

Atelier Escha & Logy series (エスカ&ロジーのアトリエ ~黄昏の空の錬金術士~) has 12 eps in total and 'til this date haven't announced for the 2nd season. Maybe it'll just going like this. Atelier Escha & Logy anime television series based on the game with the same name.
Well, if you try to search the game by itself you will find so many Atelier series. It is exactly like what it sounds, there are currently 15th series, and the one became an anime is the 15th series.
From the pic I show above, it shows so many female characters. Don't misinterpret this anime to be for entertain the audience with fanservices. It's moe enough but also has few male characters and it's not harem genre.
The main characters named Escha and Logy, the alchemists.
The background of this story is mainly on Colseit town. The town where Escha lives. To put it simply, she then meets with other characters which are not only alchemists but also treasure hunter, swordswoman, and many more. That's how I make the storyline simplier lol.
Since it's based on the game, so no wonder why every episode seems there are missions need to be completed. Maybe it's just me who assumes like that since I never played the game so I can't give any proper explanation to you. For the story itself, it's clear that each episode contain of a task for em~people in R&D Division Colseit Department. There are also times when the problems focus on few characters but not too complicated, enjoyable enough.
There's no need to tilt your head and use your brain too much because the ideas for this series is rather simple. Mostly the theme in each episode is the friendship. So there's no warning such as R18 lol. Nevertheless, there is an episode which shows scenery of the girls in bath, to make it clear, it's censored. ꒰(@`꒳´)꒱
The art is quite nice and somewhat soothing colors. But not too superb, just an average. I'd prefer the opening theme rather than the ending theme which the rhythm is too slow for me. (opening theme (゜ν゜)). Well nothing so special too about the music. The characters for the series are quite colourful. You can find alchemists, mechanic, treasure hunter, archeologist, traveller, even witch lol.
I will give rate around 7 for the series :3
Pros:
- The meaning of the series such as friendship, hard work, caring
Cons:
- Episodic story (for me it's bothering)

I like the Atelier video games, so when I saw this anime I was so excited to watch it! I really loved it. I tried not to finish watching it too fast and now I'm sad that it's over. If you've played the games, you'll probably love this.

I've never been able to get into any of the Atelier games. I just find them insufferably dull and tedious. So I figured I'd cut out of the middle-man of boring lackluster gameplay and just watch an anime adaptation of one of the stories. Maybe then I'd finally see why people like this.
Spoiler Alert: I still don't get it.
The setting has potential but is dull and just a backdrop for slice of life stories. The plot only matters towards the end, doesn't make a ton of sense and leaves several plot-threads dangling. The characters are all bland and have virtually no depth to them.
I haven't played the game so I don't know how faithful it is, but I imagine it's not far off the mark. For some reason I just find it boring. And I generally like slice of life, so I don't know why.
I don't like the art design, I don't like the plot. The plot feels like a lot of random events happening with a loose string floating in the background. It goes around and around but never really gets anywhere. It's complete, but it still feels hollow.
The animation was done by Studio Gokumi, who are pretty much GONZO in all but name. The quality is crap. Every other shot is off-model, sometimes hilariously so. The designs aren't consistent, the action is stiff and jerky, the CGI isn't horrible but still pretty bad. This was a show made on the cheap.
The sound I imagine is mostly ripped from the game's OST. It's full of decent ambient tracks, especially the lonely sound mysterious piece that plays in abandoned ruins. That and the OP are the memorable music pieces. Otherwise, it's pretty generic fluff.
The show was difficult for me to slog through. It kept putting episodes off because I just didn't want to deal with them. It isn't even entertainingly bad in a cathartic sense, it's just kind of bad.
This is just a series that I can't get into, in any form it seems. While the series has its fans that might enjoy this anime, I can't recommend it to anyone else. It has elements of slice-of-life, fantasy and steampunk, but does none of them very well.
Nothing is really at stake. There's hardly any tension in the narrative because they obviously had to rip out all the dungeon-crawling, aka the gameplay which once served as the default tension. Without it, every problem is solved via an easy "hard work" montage. "oh, we need [X] to complete an objective!". "Oh look! An [X]! Right over there!". "Awesome! Let's get to work!".
That's how pretty much any conflict settles itself in this show.
It's just dull all around with few redeeming qualities.
