I am usually not a reviewer, but I'll give it a shot since I haven't enjoyed a show this much in a while. On a short note, This show is already one of my favourites and I can't wait for season 3 to come. Where to begin.. (review spoiler free)

Story (10/10)
Not everyday you see a rather short anime being able to deliver such a well-told story. The story is set waaay in the future, and we are able to see how people have managed to survive, and how they are living their lives while facing a lot of danger (in the outer space). There is still so much that we don't know about the plot (show being ongoing), but it definitely makes you wonder what's going to happen next.

Animation(8/10)
Personally, I would say the animation is rather good, it's just a different style of animation honestly. I really enjoyed it overall, having watched the show in a converted 60fps (you can actually do that). Otherwise I heard the animation is set in 15fps, and I attempted to watch the show (the recap movie), and it was still not that bad.

Sound(9/10)
Not too much to say.. I'm not an expert on sound, but I definitely enjoyed how the sound was played during fight scenes, as well as the general OST's that were presented in the anime.

Character(9/10)
Character development is actually really good. Ignoring the fact that our main protagonist always gets the upper hand and is that type of guy who is always motivated and wins every fight, we can see that the anime has a little focus on the other characters as well. I was impressed by how much they were able to deliver in such a short time, giving the viewer a better understanding of the characters.

Enjoyment(9/10)
Having been a huge fan of action/mecha genre, my enjoyment may have been a bit boosted since the beginning of the show. But being able to see such a well descripted future in 24 episodes, I couldn't resist the temptation of trying to give a positive review to the show.

Overall(9/10)
Not too much to say here either. If you generally like sci-fi scenarios, this anime may be a very good one for you to watch (it also presents slice of life and comedy moments).
Due to me not having seen such a good show in a long time, I am going to leave this here and hopefully the people that read it will watch the anime and agree with me here :D .

Just as good as the first season with a good balance of action and character building. The story is as well written as the first season and the characters are extremely likable. It's a shame they didn't upgrade the character models but over the course of the series you really get used to them. I really enjoyed how they expanded upon the dynamics of the characters relations to each other. The introduction of the character Tsumugi was very welcome as she both has an endearing disposition and a key role in battle. Every battle was tense and you really never know what's going to happen next. The battle sound effects were very satisfying and I have no complaints about the voice acting.

The second season brings Izana and Nagate much closer so if you aren't fond of Izana you may be turned off from the second season a bit. Furthermore there is a little more fanservice in the second season and it becomes more of a harem. However, overall the second season was a real treat to watch and the positives absolutely outweigh the negatives. If you liked the first season of Knights of Sidonia you will surely enjoy the second season just as much.
