Well, considering this is my first review, let’s see how we go!

It’s time to delve into the world of a high school student who has an activated 6th sense. Every day life for her is a mixture between making new friends and catching up with many other interesting people she has met over the course of her life. For Amami, this life of communicating with the living and the dead is all she has known. Her gift was passed down from her mother when she was born, who is just as kind and compassionate as she is.

Fast forwarding into her schooling life where she is introduced rather abruptly to her new best-friend-to-be Inoue. Mix in an ex-Yakuza member, a furious blogger, the girl who has a knack for finding the adorable in everything and an energetic high school boy for a healthy balance and there you have the ingredients for a rather heartwarming show.

Each episode takes you day by day into the life of these teenagers, exploring many different scenarios relating to the living and the dead. It shows you grief, sadness, acceptance and introduces you to many interesting characters who are from the other side of the veil.

As much as I seem to be chatting this show up right now, I wish I could put more substance into this review than what I am. Unfortunately, that substance isn’t apparent because that is all the show is. High school students roaming around the city and dealing with events surrounding death and loss.

Don’t get me wrong. Each episode had something which most people can relate to. The sudden death of a loved one, coming to terms with a person lost a long time ago, moving on and finding acceptance in someone’s passing. However, out of the 13 episodes this show had to offer, only two of them actually made me care about what was going on. This for me is a little upsetting, because this show could have had so much more going for it. Instead, it turned into background noise while I played a game in another window or browsed my Social Media outlets.

The characters, even though were enjoyable at the time, in hindsight are just the typical anime characters you see in every school based slice of life. Each episode seemed like a repetition of the same typical genre points and the only episodes which seemed to have any kind of working plot line were two towards the end. Which in turn forces me to leave this review here rather incomplete and unsatisfactory, likely to coincide with how I felt about the show.

Re-Kan is a Spring 2015 anime that not a lot of people know or talk about, whether it be there were too many good shows in the season or it could not be that good like the premise says. Is this cute show about a girl talking to ghosts a diamond in the rough and is an underrated classic or is there a reason that not many people talk about it? Let's find out...

Story: The story centers around a high school girl named Hibiki Amami. She has a sixth sense of perceiving and interacting with ghosts and supernatural beings as well as talking with cats and other animals. She transfers to a new school, but none of her peers share that ability. She becomes friends with girls who put up with her antics. Class representative Narumi Inoue despises anything related to the occult but eventually becomes friends with Amami due to the latter's character. The story follows their everyday antics.

So, what are the things that work in this comedy slice of life? Honestly, I surprisingly think the drama is good. No really, there's actually some drama in here that's pretty effective and made me tear up a bit in some of the scenes, sure they've been done before in other shows, but it's for the most part done so well that it didn't faze me all that much. Now there are some dramatic parts that I thought were kind of weak, a good example would have to be the second to last episodes where I won' give away, you're supposed to feel and get behind the MC but it felt so contrived and rushed (especially with the ending) that I didn't think it was as strong as the other ones.

I also think the pacing in this is nice... when it focused on the ghosts, it didn't feel too slow or too fast in a lot of episodes, it was a great balance. Certain episodes definitely stand out more than the rest, like with the episode with Hibiki's father, the one with this ghost girl taking over Hibiki's body temporarily, and the one with a ghost girl who seemed to have no memories. I'll never forget those episodes and how they left a surprisingly positive impression on me that made sitting through the bad stuff worth it... but more on that in a sec.

...And now let's get to the stuff that I don't like about the story. Another reason I really like the drama in this is cause the comedy itself is just unbearable. Almost every single joke in this anime falls totally flat due to how poorly timed it was, how stupid it was, or that they would use the same dull or raunchy joke over and over again. The running gags and pointless fanfare is really painful to sit through and it almost ruined the show for me.

When not focusing on the ghosts, the pacing just drags to no end. It can get really boring and irritating seeing these characters act like jack asses to each other and make really painful jokes 90% of the time. There are times where they try to make them more human but it fails!

And why is it that almost no one has a problem with Hibiki talking to ghosts a week after she goes in? We don't even see her live her daily live or adjust into a new environment or see anyone try to slowly get used to it, ok we do in the middle but its not fleshed out well enough and is forgotten as soon as its brought up.

Also, I'm not a fan of the ending. Like I said, the ending to the second to last episode is so predictable and clichéd it could almost be laughable, I'm sorry but I didn't particularly care for it. The real last episode is basically just an episode that could have easily been a special or OVA episode which has an unfulfilling ending that made me more confused than satisfied.

Animation: The animation is standard, and at times pretty sloppy. The character designs look real mediocre, and for some reason the character's eyes phase through their hair and it just looks really weird. Facial expressions are off model at points and it when its not, it still doesn't seem that spectacular. The backgrounds for certain scenes look pretty, but for the most part it sticks to the boring and dull looking school than anything else.

Sound: I gotta be honest, the music is probably the only saving grace aside from the drama. The opening is generic bubbly but its good bubbly and the animation on it ain't too bad either. The ending sounds too fast and at the same time slow, same goes for the pictures and animations, but I really like the song, its so catchy and upbeat~

The voice acting is... pretty bad. Some of the characters sound decent but everyone sounds annoying and weird, more so than the ghosts oddly enough.

Characters: Now here is where the show really falls apart. Now as regards to the majority of the characters, they all have next to no personality, have any development, do anything funny or interesting, nor have much likability. They're all just one-dimensional and can be summed up in a single word.

Hibiki is the nice girl, Narumi is the tsundere who hates ghosts (also in the beginning she acts like a complete dick), the best friends are bland with the exception of Yamada who is so annoying and insensitive (he gets abused constantly which would have been funny except for the fact that he doesn't seem to care. Ken Sugisaki he ain't), his brother is the same as him, the list goes on.

The only characters that are interesting are the ghosts, sure they don't have much personality themselves, but they're far more likeable and you wish they had more screen time than Hibiki's so called friends (although the cat thing is super irritating, every time he shows up he always looks for a peek at the girl's panties... I hate when shows repeat the same gag over and over and it was never funny to begin with).

Enjoyment: Aside from the drama aspects, there's not a lot to like in this show. I mean it doesn't really do anything phenomenally painful, but the characters are one note, the story isn't very good, and its just a missed opportunity for character development and actual fun involved.

Overall: While not a terrible show, I can see why it never caught on. It's a mostly dull, forgettable, harmless show that could have been great if it had more focus and better writing. If you want to see a story about a girl talking to ghosts, this might not be the best one to watch in that category, but if you really don't have much to watch then you might like it fine. Take it for what its worth.

Pros: Music is catchy, the drama in this is surprisingly good, the ghosts are interesting, the pacing is alright when focused on them too, the story sounds intriguing also, the backgrounds are pretty.

Cons: The pacing drags when its not focused on the ghosts, the comedy is almost insufferable, the running gags are not funny, the characters are either bland or annoying, the ending is not satisfying, the voice acting sucks, the show can sometimes can unintentionally freaky in some places, the animation is very wonky.

Also Recommend: Natsuiro Kiseki (for a better supernatural show with cute girls), No Game No Life (for a better comedy supernatural), Place To Place (for better comedy with males and females in them). And I haven't seen them, but Anohana and Natsume's Book Of Friends are probably better shows about ghosts.

Love it! It's funny, slightly spooky, and damn it if it isnt melancholy as hell in some episodes. I recommend this anime FULLY! WATCH IT! Right now! do it!

a nice funny anime to watch with a character who see ghost and with funny ghost too and a lot of Comedy this is rare we see a anime with interaction with ghost like that but anyway lets begin

About The Story
the story dont have a goal to reach this is more like some little events and some story behind each ghost or person you have some nice things and we have a little cute Yuri i have liked the little Yuri Romance in it and i have expected more of this but they have dont go too far with that im a little sad D: but you can see clearly the Romance with those 2 so yeah thats a pretty fun anime but dont think we have a solid story to follow this is more like multiple story and some of them can contain feels .. yeah this anime contain some little feels thats not a Drama but thats can contain some little feels.. !

About The Animation and Sounds
the animation is good we have a little different style compared to some others anime thats why i have liked the animation i like when they make a different style thats make the thing a little bit different or new if you prefer , for the sound i have liked the Opening/Ending they are just awesome i freaking like it i give you the vids

i like all the characters ghost or human they are all nice thats complicated to hate someone the secondary characters are fun too they are just all funny lets talk about it and will show you a pic of each of them but the format can be big... sorry for that i just dont have find more little format LOOOl

Hibiki Amami / thats the main character who see ghost this is a cute and innocent girl i very like this girl she is just too cute and funny and she is very kind thats why the ghost like her too , thats my favorite one :3 ,and she talk and help ghost everyday and i like the little Yuri between Narumi and her when something happen with this 2 she become shy and blush and thats make her soo fking cute

Narumi Inoue / the Tsundere but scared by ghost and haunted house when i say she is scare by ghost she really panic when ghost are here ... she dont see them but because of Amami she know when ghost are here LOOl she is funny sometimes , i like the little Yuri between Amami and her , same like Amami she can be cute when she blush

Kyouko Esumi / the old gangster or fighter if u prefer .. she is strong but pissed off by the stupid guy Kenta she just punch him everytimes when he become annoying i think this is the little bad ass in the anime if you know what i mean.. thats a nice girl and she tease Narumi sometimes

Kana Uehara / the one who post picture of ghost on his blog she can be funny when the ghost who haunted her (Merry-san) is calling her she is a old friend of Kyouko too when she have been a fighter or gangster ,thats can be a great girl.. sometimes she is pissed off by Kenta too or can fight with Kyouko , she can tease Narumi too

Makoto Ogawa / she have a little hobbies for make creepy doll thats how the others called this .. she very like this kind of doll she is a little funny just because of that when someone have a problem she just say take one (she give her the doll) but the people are just scared after that.. she is a little stupid and airhead LOOOl...but she is not bad 

Kenta Yamada / the airhead guy he is funny but really idiot and a little reject without reject he is freind with the 5 others girl but the girls just dont care really about it LOOOl Kyouko punch him everytime when he become annoying but he can be nice

Asahi Amami / the dad of Hibiki (Amami) he is a little bit like Narumi thats a funny dad he is scare by ghost too and his hair have turned white because of it.. yeah he have been scare as f**k thats sure .. !

Ghosts

Roll Call Samurai / by his name i think you know this is a samurai ghost but thats funny one he always protect Hibiki Amami and watch her for protect her he can fight the Kogal Spirit this is like a rival friend i think , he have making me laugh a lot

Kogal Spirit / a ghost school girl with a Kogal style if you know what is look like you can look the pic you will understand me , so she like teasing the Roll-Call Samurai.. or pissing him off they are like rival she is a little funy if she want..

Hanako-san / the ghost who haunt the toilet but this is a little girl nothing to be scared but anyway we just see her a little bit

Ero-neko / this cat is fking funny because this is a pervert and have a weird voice this one gonna make you laugh a lot im sure he try to see the pantsu of the girls but he miss everytime..

Merry-san / this ghost scare Kana and haunt her .. why ? because she calling her on his phone and just freak her out everywhere she go i have like his style of this ghost thats sad she dont appear soo much

Neckless Spirit / this one have no face.. but when i have see her i dont know why she have making me think about Another she wear a umbrella and schoolgirl uniform and when she come somewhere the rain appear so yeah she can control the rain

Spirit of the Park or The Spirit of The Slasher Spirit / he protecting Hibiki too a little bit but you will never see him you just gonna hear his voice he can be nice too.. PS no pic of him but you can see him in the Opening and Ending but he is invisible anyway.. 
Yūhi Amami / the mother of Hibiki , she really look like daughter this is a beautiful and very kind women who can see ghost too they are both Medium i have liked his dress but... yeah you have notice... why she is a ghost... you will know it soon

Narumi Grandmother / she dont do soo much thing but she is funny because she smile everytime and guard Narumi
About The Enjoyment
thats a funny anime with a lot of Comedy i have not been bored at all.. some people dont have hear about this serie when this is nice and i have some people bored about this anime i dont know why because i have fking liked it you gonna some feels sometimes too and see a little Yuri Romance thats just nice and dont forget the ghosts they are funny too just the interaction with the ghost can be more funny because they can help to do something like open the door.. ! depend we have a lot of ghost who do fun stuff

thats something i have very liked to watch im sad because now this is finish.. and thats one of my favorite anime now this is a pretty unique anime for me , if you like Comedy thats can be something to watch but if you normally like anything like me... thats sure you will like this one the first time i have hear about this anime i have been interesting by the anime and now i fking like it !
