though this anime has potential, its a regret that it will be over at 12th episode, while the thrill starts from episode 10,the manga is really good, the conflicting emotions of kaneki is one to watch.

I've been looking for something more captivating to watch and this seems to have pulled me in. I like the characters quite a bit. Kaneki is cute and I really hope he grows a lot as a character. I really love when you get to see the characters transform into stronger people, a notable example being Ed in Fullmetal Alchemist. Touka is a hot-head and she kicks quite a bit of ass. I like the whole kagune idea. I want more of an explanation on how they work, etc. Mado and Amon are interesting as well. Mado is creepy and psychotic and just great. Amon is the eye candy of the doves, sexy.. maybe even dark and brooding.
I also really like the opening and ending clips for the anime. The music is good and some anime opening/endings can be really irritating, but this one isn't to me.

My worries with this anime are that the plot will get fucked up or something and I'll lose interest if it moves too slow.

So far, so good.

Although one might at the beginning believe that the story and - especially Kaneki - are going to be plain and miserable while the plot moves on, you will soon see how wrong this "first impression" is.
The anime might have it's censorship and there are (if I'm not mistaken) only just 12 episodes planned, but I would really wish for another season, especially because I am a big fan of the manga and its twists and turns.
Edit: After the season finished, I have to say... The show managed to keep the main story line although very interesting parts were left out and the order of events got mixed up. Meh - still okay and I enjoyed it anyway.
(Censorship sucked though)

Fast-paced, thrilling and brilliant anime to watch! Tokyo Ghoul takes place in an exciting world with extraordinary events, bewildering characters and an unbelievable plot. The anime explores the line between good and evil, light and darkness, sanity and insanity. The main character is forced in a circumstance where he has either no where he belongs or two extreme ends he belong to, where he is neither human nor ghoul. He has to remain to his human values, the values of life whilst fighting against his nature to kill and feed. He has no wish to hurt anyone but the two fronts- human and ghoul, have too many misunderstanding and murders, forcing him to take sides.

Tokyo Ghould is a story about  Kaneki Ken a young college student who is shy and likes to read book and meets Kamishiro Rize at a cafe, after falling in love at first sight he then ask her to a date only too find out that she is a ghoul that tries to eat him.
Tokyo Ghoul have had 2 episodes by this time, and i think its a rather good anime. Its a bit slow but it has some good action i also liked the Animation in it. The only drawback for me is the MC who spend the first 2 episodes shouting and repeating same words all the time and he is the only one to ever come close to being so pathetic or annoying as Amano Yukiteru.
So i belive this anime has good potentional and its fun to watch but at the same time pisses me off.

Eat and become the monster or swallow your tongue and keep you humanity!
From the first episode I will tell you! [This anime isn't for weak and quickly disturbed]
There is Gore Gore more gore! BLOOD SPLAT! HA! HAHAHAHA! (This sounds better in my mind -.- )
The story is interesting! I am intrigued! I can't tell what will come directly after the first episode, but I can see foreshadows of the later story and plus I am not going to read the manga... But my first impression of this anime is above average!
The art is similar to or exactly alike to Pyschopass, but it is from the same company (Funimation!) so the art is good... nothing really to comment...
Sound is good nothing really to comment...
Character... ... ... ... well okay I don't like the main protagonists hair... but you get used to it... Okay other than the hair... The characters aren't fully introduced in the first episode, but it seems well thought out and honestly I'm not to pushy now...
Enjoyment... I like gore... to be honest... blood splatter seems cool... (I am not a killer....... yet... JKS I honestly just like reading or watching about it nothing IRL) but apart from that the story really brings you in especially the last scene...

After notes and summary: It's similar to Pyshopass, Full of gore
P.S. If you are interested in this anime go watch it... people have different tastes

So this is our main guy,the typical shonen protagonist with spiky hair who likes boobs and wants to become the strongest.

He has a cheerful personality and a beautiful smile.

He also has many friends and people who help him on his adventure of becoming the strongest space pirate king captain of the shinigami in a ninja world.

He's also popular with the gals.

Seriously now,Tokyo ghoul looks very promising and the budget is high.If anything it's mature.I'm looking forward to it.It get's 4.5/5 from me. :)

[UPDATE]

I hear a lot of people complaining about the rushed plot and the censoring. You see,I've read quite a bit of the manga and honestly, for me at least it's not a big deal. Some scenes were changed and others were cut or connected in a different order but honestly,I like how fast paced the anime is.About the censorship well ... it has enough blood and gore(if you are like me) to satisfy you and still have great characters&story without being torture porn or an elfen lied.Anyways,I think that both the manga and anime are something I could recommend to well ... most people.

The MC has a normal life until one day he is attacked by a beautiful girl. He suffers major injuries, but recovers from it quite quickly. After being attacked the MC can no longer go back to eating normal food because it tastes like shit.
Now he has to scour the streets in order to find the cheapest food available, learn to fight with other "ghouls", train himself to be the very best, and come to terms with what he is now. And maybe, just maybe meet the Wizard along the way. Have Fun watching this!
