ログ・ホライズン 第2シリーズVeteran gamer Shiroe and other players have been trapped in the world of the online game Elder Tales for six months. The once chaotic city of Akibara has regained its everyday hustle and bustle following the formation of the self-governing organization Round Table Meeting. It's almost winter and the Adventurers are thinking about what they're going to do and what their goals are in this other world. Will they remain in Akibara or go to the city of the West? Filler episode the season
This was such a huge letdown compared to the first season. The entirety of this season is personified in the episode “Guild Master”, which is almost entirely a monologue; there are only a few minutes of not monologue. I’m not entirely convinced that 90% of the episodes weren’t supposed to be in-between episodes of the first season.

I've rewatched Log Horizon a few times, and I've noticed that a lot of people seem to think it's... lack luster at best. Not so, in my opinion. Sure the change in artwork took some getting used to, and seemed like a downgrade, and the plot pacing could have been better, but it had many areas where it did just as well as the first season.
Story - To be fair, I can't fault the story development for the anime much, seeing as they stayed very true to the source material. Many studios try to "improve" the pacing of the original work and end up doing worse, if not butchering it completely. So while the pacing of the anime was pretty odd at times, and some comedic moments actually felt out of place, I'd still say it did well with the material it had, especially when taking into consideration that they pulled not only from the source light novels but also from some of the spin-off/side-story manga, tying the timelines together rather well and giving the world a feeling of consistency (which was slightly lacking, what with different parts of the story being told in different mediums at the same time).
Animation - This is where I think the majority of the complaints are directed. A result of the change in production studios, the change in art style was not one for the better, and took some getting used to. While some of the characters didn't seem too different from the first season, and a few even looked better, the majority of the cast looked choppy and unrefined.
Akatsuki, for example, is one of the less obvious changes, and is also one of the changes sometimes argued as for the better (image pulled form hummingbird forums).
Beside the artwork, the animation was also visibly less fluid at times (and there were already moments in Log Horizon which weren't as fluidly animated as could have been). Whether this was an effect that the producers desired or not, I'm unsure of, but it took away from the impact of those moments, and is something that most agree on as a demerit.
Sound - The sounds in Log Horizon are easily it's most enjoyable aspect for me. The voice casting was chosen rather well, and the soundtrack is both well timed and quite fitting. Despite the lack of an uber catchy main piece, the OST of Log Horizon is recommended for those who collect anime OST's or place high importance on the soundtrack when choosing an anime to watch, and is mainly unchanged from the first season.
Character - The characters are Log Horizon's other strong point, and this is brought forward quite well in it's second season. While some initially important characters such as Naotsugu still remain mostly where they were left at the end of the first season, there is an evident development with other characters - mostly seen with the female lead, Akatsuki. All in all, I'd say the character development was rather well balanced between the Main Character and his supporting cast, however there were a few members of the "main" cast whose development and importance either remained questionable or changed very little.
Enjoyment - I'd call it enjoyable in it's own right, with most of it's downfalls being heightened in comparison to the first season, however not as impactful when taken as a stand-alone season (as opposed to changes within a season, per say). With a solid development of the world and cast, along with the excellence of its musical score, I'd quickly recommend it to those interested.
OVERALL - 7.6/10

Both first and second season bored me, it was very slow and initial story seemed extremely slow, didn't really like the story. Good music and animation, but i didn't really like the character development starting from season 1 itself. (P.S Haters or A**holes don't attack, this is my opinion so do not come charging at me to try and change what i think)

I see reviews saying that they fucked this series up and it kind of put me off watching it for a little while (about a day) but I thought no...i'll give it a chance.
They didn't fuck it up, some characters seemed to change they way they act which I thought strange in the case of Akatsuki but I think that's more on the Manga than the anime (i've not read the manga) I actually preferred series 2 to 1. There's more fights, more action and more reference to an MMO in series 2 than in the first. Raids, bosses, and general MMO fighting. Don't listen to the 'They fucked it up', to me...they didn't

-review still under construction-
Rather than giving a proper explanation of the show’s premise, I’ll just skip to the meat of the review, as I assume you have at least seen the first season.
Log Horizon 2 manages to retain some of its charm from the first season, however this continuation is not without its flaws, and there are plenty.
The show starts off right where the first season ended. However in terms of story and pacing, it is not as consistent as the previous season. There are times in the series where the story is delivered in the same quality as it was in the previous season. Then, for some odd reason it would get side tracked or come to a cringe worthy crawl. Episode 10 is a prime example, as the ENTIRE episode is dedicated to a pep-talk from a character that was just introduced. The story is still engaging and every bit as interesting, however the main problem is with how it’s delivered. However this isn’t the only problem plaguing Log Horizon.
The first thing that catches your attention is the change in animation. This is due to the fact that Log Horizon has traded hands and is now being animated by Studio Deen, instead of Statelight. This change can be very jarring especially if you are just coming off the first season. For the most part the animation is “decent”, set pieces and backgrounds are good for the most part, but the character design is a bit lackluster.
Even with all its flaws Log Horizon 2 is still enjoyable, though not as good as its first season. The story and the still remains interesting, the characters are all still enjoyable… even the new ones (Tetra :D). If you're a fan of the series, then this season is still worth your time.
Overall 7.8/10

May contain spoilers
What I anticipated to be an amazing sequel to a very good series turned out to be a major disappointment (for me). 10 episodes in so far and it's a major letdown.
From the very first episode, a distinctive problem has arisen in the world of elder tale; everything is inflating as hell and the guild court demands gold. Even now, our once kickass main character Shiroe is off babysitting a bunch of goons, including a vengeful cocky ex-villian and a badly introduced magical girl/nurse. With Shiroe out the picture for now, all eyes focus on our princess assassin Akatsuki. Only this time, she is more princess and less assassin.
As you've probably guessed by now, instead of assisting her "Master", she's stuck babysitting some incompetent princess while a loose maniac runs rampage through the Christmas night. Her constant wailing to be with Shiroe has caused her image (in my eyes) to become from a strong woman into a princess in peril. With both of these main characters butchered, i have lost hope in this season. The new character designs also slightly bother me (especially Nyantan)
They tried to add in certain elements into the season to lift up the excitement but for me, has failed to do so. The " flavor text" coming to life in my opinion was greatly understated. It was a very interesting concept but has been so badly implemented that it just doesn't have the shine the animators wanted to show. There's even an episode composed of nothing but talking with no real action happening at all which I found completely boring, and caused me to write a review for this show.
I know it has only been 10 episodes in so far into a 24 episode series but come on studio DEEN, you can do better than this. The pacing is horrible. You really don't need 10+ episodes for money problems. Instead, focus on the more important things like the flavor text coming to life or why do people lose memories when they die (not a spoiler because it was said in previous season I think)
I realize this review is more of a rant but feel s though I need to get this of my chest.

We are currently 7 episodes in, in this arc that is about Christmas, and a Santa Claus murderer. So far it has been extremely sub-par, and tbh, extremely boring. While I marathoned the first season and enjoyed it a lot, I feel like I am just forcing myself to watch this season's episodes. It is very sad because while the first season was really good and close to a 9/10, this season is very sub par and is somewhere in between a 6 and 7.
Also I feel like they butchered Akatsuki. She was amazing and badass, while this time around she seems like a weak maiden in need of help. And I know they are trying to make her look stronger by having her train, but it isn't helping her character become any better.
Oh and the pacing so far has been terrible. I was expecting the whole murderer thing to last 1-2 episodes but it has been going on for way too long. Sorry Deen, but you ruined an anime once again.

Fucking DEEN I swear to God you better not fuck up.
