Higurashi: Outbreak gives us a new take on what happens in the Higurashi world and I sincerely hope the story is continued in another arc. Outbreak perfectly makes up for the last lackluster OVA.
Pros: Great animation, new story

Cons: A cliffhanger ending

So, its finally here when they cry outbreak the ova based on the popular series. This ova runs at a total of 50min. I will be going over each aspect of the ova throughout this review.

STORY: The story is set in the same Hinamizawa village of the previous stories. The village has been completely sealed off due to a mysterious virus in 1983, and Maebara Keiichi and Ryuuguu Rena deal with the outbreak. Personally i think the story is a bit lacking. Throughout the story there is very little development of the characters and not a lot about the circumstances is explained with much detail. Also i found it a little odd that the first solution that Rena and Keiichi come up with to solve their problems is to kill everyone. Even for When They Cry it seemed to be odd. Then the ending is left open ended and it is left to the viewer to decide what would happen next. Overall it was an ok story.

Animation: For this ova they changed the animation style of the characters so it looks alot different than the original series. The animation overall is good especially with the killing scenes but i feel they should have went along with the same style of animation they used in the original series.

Sound: There isn't much for me to say about the sound. The sub was good and nothing seemed out of place.

Characters: As mentioned in the story section the characters really don't develop and start killing people for no real reason. While this is still enjoyable to watch it changes the personality of the characters as whole

Enjoyment: I did enjoy the ova because i really enjoyed the original series. I would say that anyone who also like the original series would also like this ova. While the story isn't the greatest; it does a good job of keeping the viewer entertained.

Characters were how do i put this bad they almost just started killing and seem to lack emotions at times the story was ok not amazing but still sure worth to watch for any fan of the show. even though it has many flaws i still overall enjoyed it
