I expected a slice of life in a magical world. It was, for a few episodes. Then it turned into a pleasant action comedy.
I loved that the magic made sense in ways. It clearly followed rules and laws, and is researched like we do with physics.
Still, I felt I had seen it all before. And the cliff hanger at the end was totally unwarranted. Sure, the main story wasn’t all tied up and done, it wasn’t clearly over.
Spoiler!: But to have that scene inside the big forbidden floating castle where a single person finds the big secret generations were looking for and failed to find… I lost all suspense of disbelief.

Let me be frank, the anime is horrible. Let me be franker, you could not write more generic characters if you tried. The only character that has a shred of actual CHARACTER to him is the main guy. Everyone else is just tired tropes. Tropes where you can absolutely predict what they are going to say and do. The shows was actually promising up until episode 2 where they learned magic. The magic in this world seemed quite interesting. I enjoyed watching the teacher explain how it worked and what you could do with just one spell. That said, everything else in this series is awful. The artstyle/animation is painfully average, the characters are bland, boring and underdeveloped, the show is confused about its fanservice, and overall there is NOTHING that this show does that is worth seeing. Just skip this one.

I really didn’t have any high hopes for this one. Felt pretty decent at the first sight and it was indeed decent in most aspects. Plot is kinda interesting and makes me feel like I should read the source material. Characters are really well made, but they’re ruined by
