Story: It's the year 2035 at the all-girl Seioh Private High School. Since the birth rate has dropped dramatically, schools are being closed down due to the sheer lack of students available to teach. Morale in schools are dropping, and Seioh is no exception. The main character, Manami Amamiya, transfers to Seioh; after some initial hijinks involving a futuristic scooter and a swim meet, followed by an inspirational school song performance, she is inducted as the student council president. She works with Mika Inamori, the only other student council member, and three other classmates named Mutsuki Uehara, Mei Etoh, and Momoha Odori, in student council matters as they set forth to plan for the upcoming student festival. Will they succeed?
Pros: The art is gorgeous, designs are simple yet nice to look at, and the animation helps make it super fluid. The main characters are all likeable and are well developed as the show goes on. Manami starts off energetic and smily but then realizes smiles aren't always going to solve problems and needs to works much harder. Mika was shy and scared but soon learns to be brave and help out. The others have their problems and solutions too and it makes watching them for the most part, to be enjoyable and relaxing.
The opening is also pretty good (I also love how it's mentioned again in the finale and it is a good transition there. Is it transition? I have no idea but I like it nonetheless) and the voice acting is top notch as they put great emotions into their performances.
Cons: Despite this being a comedy, there's rarely any of that here (and I hate when shows do that). Most of the show is more focused on slice of life drama than comedy, rarely is there any humor in this show. I have seen comedy mixed in along with some character development and I understand you want to get them out of the generic side, but at least mix in the drama and comedy and balance them well please? I would have enjoyed this much more if you did.
The ending song/imagery is lame, claymation at its worst, no one moves right, and the characters there always wink for some reason... why?
Also I found the ending to the show rather confusing, hard for me to explain without spoiling (I don't even know what happened there) but/so you might have to see it for yourself and try to grasp and understand it.
Overall: This is a short and sweet anime to look at, if you are looking for a good comedy then you should probably look elsewhere, there's not much of it. But if you want a good slice of life anime with some drama, then this is good to see and check out.
