Shoujo trash. It's a wild ride, not for the characters, but for your neck after cringing all the time.

I honestly quite liked this anime, that being said I would like to say that it's definitely for younger viewers. At 11 this was one of the best shows I had watched but now it does seem lacking. If you're not a teen you would probably enjoy this show.

Story: Get this, there's this normal girl named Nina who is a high schooler (shocking) who while eating food with her friends just so happened to find this pink ball fall from the sky (why is it the sky?) and land on her plate (coinkidink?). She takes it and thinking that its candy tastes it, but doesn't like the flavor and tries to spit it out. However, thanks to a loud noise that came from... somewhere, Nina acidentally swallows it (of course she does). There she then sees some magicians race over to her but then gets saved by two guys (what are the odds), a rambunctous and immature Zero and a calm and collective Ichii who explain to her that what she swallowed was the "Crystal Pearl" that a pair of magician must collect in order to pass and become full fledged ones. So now in order to get the pearl out of her, they must wait for a special medicine to be brewed so that it can come out (why not digest it out though?) but until then, Nina is going to be protected by the two wizards who saved her from earlier from harm up until Christmas.
No, I am not making any of this up, that's actually the story.
Pros: The OP is pretty good and it'll show what you're in for. And believe it or not there is actually some development later on in the show between two villains and Zero and Ichii (the latters though is very poorly handled but at least they try to do one). Some of the characters are pretty likeable like the two villains I mentioned earlier and Zero and Ichii are pretty decent to watch too until the last third but I'll get to that in a moment...
Animation is pretty mediocre, even the battles aren't impressive sadly but at least it looks nice and is... there I suppose. Some of the voices aren't too bad either but it isn't saving much and I have heard of them before already...
Cons: Every other character is forgettable and/or annoying as all heck. The biggest case has got to be with our 'heroine' Nina. She kind of reminds me Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica in that despite being the main character she just does nothing but watch the others do all the dirty work, feels worthless and cries in the second half, and then saves the day and everyone in the end... I think. There is however a big difference: Madoka is likeable, she is kind, caring, optimistic, and there is a reason that she doesn't fight most of the time as I will not spoil it but its very reasonable. Nina on the other hand is whiny, bratty, ungrateful for the others saving her, obnoxious, and is a hypocrite.
Speakng of, it seems more like Zero and Ichii don't even care about Nina and just want the pearl thats inside of her. In one of the episodes where one of the bad guys holds Nina hostage and asks them which they would rather have (Nina or the pearl), they answer both! They even say in the last third that they just wanted the pearl and have no reason to protect or help her anymore and leave her to her room to cry (but she forgives them and helps them out anyway because... potatoes). There are no words.
Also, remember the stuff I mentioned up there in the story summary? Never addressed or brought up. EVER! I mean seriously!? Nina could just crap out the pearl and clean it and then give it to the boys so why make this all so complicated? And why do you literally introduce characters but then just leave them to the wasteside!? (they do this four times in the second to last episode alone) WHY SHOULD WE EVEN CARE WHAT'S GOING ON? Oh and Nina is given a lollipop for protecting herself with so wouldn't that mean she wouldn't need those two to help? (and they have an annoying mascot but he doesn't deserve a mention) Voice acting is terrible as well as the ED and the designs and art are BLEH!
Overall: This is just stupid. The story is shit, the characters and voices (for the most part) for annoying and forgettable, the music and animation is standard, even the ending is so predicatable and stupid you can see it coming from a mile away. There's nothing to like and even if there was, it doesn't leave a lasting impact or stick with for too long since the other stuff is so bad it ruins that for you. My advice, save yourself from torture and don't watch this disgusting sticky glob of mess/goo here.
