This Kino no tabi ova isn't for everyone. In fact, if you are considering watching this, go watch the series first and then come back and watch this if you are still interested. The story for this episode is much like the rest of the anime, where, most of the time, everything is not quite what it seems. Kino traveled to many interesting countries and the country in this ova is no exception, though it isn't completely original . Kino and Hermes are just as entertaining as ever and the side characters are used well in their limited screen time. The animation is actually better and higher budget than the main series, I was impressed with it even though it is a bit aged. There is no real soundtrack but what is there is good.
Like I said before, if you enjoyed the series you should enjoy this ova just as much. I would recommend this to most people, but would tell them to watch the show first or you will be lost on a few things.
