Kuroko's Basketball

黒子のバスケ

Teikou Junior High School's basketball team is crowned champion three years in a row thanks to five outstanding players who, with their breathtaking and unique skills, leave opponents in despair and fans in admiration. However, after graduating, these teammates, known as "The Generation of Miracles," go their separate ways and now consider each other as rivals. At Seirin High School, two newly recruited freshmen prove that they are not ordinary basketball players: Taiga Kagami, a promising player returning from the US, and Tetsuya Kuroko, a seemingly ordinary student whose lack of presence allows him to move around unnoticed. Although Kuroko is neither athletic nor able to score any points, he was a member of Teikou's basketball team, where he played as the "Phantom Sixth Man," who easily passed the ball and assisted his teammates.Kuroko no Basket follows the journey of Seirin's players as they attempt to become the best Japanese high school team by winning the Interhigh Championship. To reach their goal, they have to cross pathways with several powerful teams, some of which have one of the five players with godlike abilities, whom Kuroko and Taiga make a pact to defeat. One of the greatest sports anime there is- Kuroko no Basket has a full cast of hot, unique men and a fantastic plot. This anime explores the theme of basketball, the passion for it and the intense competition between the teams. Any good sports anime would keep you on the edge of your seat by introducing buzzer beaters, amazing three-pointers and unbelievable techniques and plays- this anime has it all together with great character development. Definitely an anime that would convince you that the impossible is possible and rekindle a desire for challenges in life and definitely an anime you should watch!

Kuroko no Basket is a wonderful sports anime about 5 basketball prodigies who were all on the same team in middle school moving on to high school and competing against each other.  However, they have competition in the phantom 6th man and the recent transfer to Japan from American.

Story: The resulting story that unfolds is of the competition between the teams to vie for the various national championships and the relationships between the characters in their respective teams as is the case in the numerous previous sports anime that have come before it.  Which is by no means a bad thing.  I'm not sure how a high school sports could be written differently with the sports exception I can think of being "One Outs" but that only being a slight deviant.  What sets Kuroko no Basket apart from all the other sports anime is its pacing and the way it handles the down time in between games  and build up of the next opponent.  This will be spoken on more in enjoyment.

Animation: The animation that occurs during the games is phenomenal and a treat to watch and out of games is nothing to complain about.  The show's use of CGI was subtle and fitting for the times used.  The only real gripe I have with the animation is the reusing of shots which is fine when used for dribbling or other mundane actions but when the shots are reused for characters special moves which removes some of the impact later on.

Sound: There wasn't anything worth complaining about as far as the soundtrack or voice acting was concerned. The soundtrack may feel over played as certain parts in the games but I found it to be more cueing me in that something important was going to happen that pumped me up than tiring me out from hearing the same track again.  A track that was an example of pumping me up was "Kagami Taiga."

Characters: The cast of characters is well flushed out from the opponents, to the side characters, and the main duo themselves.  Quickly, Kuroko is a weakling that is an expert in assisting the other players on a team and Taiga is hot headed muscle head that has a passion for the game.  If you want to know more watch the show.

Enjoyment: The draw of the show is the excitement caused from watching the games that may very well leave you mentally and physically exhausted just from watching.  However, the show does a brilliant job of filling in the gaps between the action with quite enjoyable humour (albeit that humour is relative and based on personal tastes) and suitable build up to the next game.

Overall: This is an excellent example of shounen sports anime and if you want to get swept up into a path to attempt victory then this show is well worth the watch.

I myself never really watched sports anime. But this anime, it's the reason I have chosen Sports as one of my new favorite genres. Also, Character gets an automatic 10 because of Kuroko, he's sooo adorable! And here is the fangirl in me talking!

Amazing. My first sport-anime I watched and I loved it! The storyline was really good, nice build-up and amazing basketball battles.
I gave the animation a 7 because of the shadows. Those are drawn as little black lines. I really dislike this. The sounds are great; just like a real basketball game there are these peeping shoes and the public which screams. Characters are great I love them all even the 'bad guys'. Every character has there own strength and weakness. Overall a great anime which everybody should watch.

KuroBasu is over the top, yet extremely well written. It turns something as simple as passing a basketball into a high stakes game of skill accompanied by dramatic music. With each player possessing a different skill (e.g passing, dunking, shooting, etc.) it creates a brilliant mash up of characters and teams that leaves you constantly wondering what will happen next. Each character is given enough time to develop a personality and gives the viewer the chance to connect with them and understand them. The animation is also extraordinarily beautiful, with enough intensity to keep things interesting, wonderful character designs, fluid and realistic movements, KuroBasu has some of the most impressive animation I have ever seen used in an anime.

From the adventures of their team bond growing stronger, to the intense matches against the former members of the Generation of Miracles, KuroBasu is an amazing sports anime for people who aren’t fans of sports. Before watching this show I thought it would just be a silly take on a sport that I had no interest in, but after watching just a few episodes I was enthralled by the amazing writing and extremely interested in learning more about the unique group of characters.

All and all I could not recommend Kuroko no Basuke enough. If you love sports, you’ll love the exciting matches and intense training. If you don’t like sports, you’ll find joy in watching the characters interact with beautifully animated scenes and maybe even develop a love for sports yourself.

الانمي راقي جدًا
ومذهل، وهذا الجزء الاول لاسطورة تدوم وتدوم

the anime is good, so good and from the best anime of sport kind

and it's the start of the rest of the story i mean this season

Story- All about tournament matches with occasional training. Though the matches were great foreshadowing and explanations of different teams earlier would add a sense of excitement. Script writing felt cheesy at times but did its job. Simple and mainly about basketball matches.

Animation- Rich animation followed by some meh episodes. Is saves the budget for the matches and stinks otherwise. Everything from the passes to the running was rich and fluid. Great visual matches.

Sound - Average opening and endings but everyone has different taste in music so see for yourself. Overall all the sound effects from the dribbles to the sweats were compelling. Outside of matches it had average background songs for each character but it didn't need the sound as the voice acting was great.

Characters- The main one got the most highlights. Side characters were brought in when necessary which didn't help since we barely knew much of them. Expansion of characters outside of matches were not shown. Though it focuses on basketball we needed some slice of life element or some more training to show characters development and back stories. Like able but niche characters with unique atmospheres.

Enjoyment- Great matches, like able characters made the show worth it. The matches were executed amazingly. Some humor but mainly for the basketball matches and the niche but like able characters.

Though it's not the best anime ever, Kuroko no Basuke manages to make sports anime entertaining for those that aren't into sports anime/manga in the first place. It's just a feel good show that has you constantly at the edge of your seat and cheering for the characters.

Hi there! I will be reviewing Kuroko no Basket, this anime's genre are comedy/sport/magic and is a shounen show.

STORY

The story was mostly filled with basketball tournaments which usually excites those who likes basketball and bores those who don't, except that this isn't just your normal basketball. The background story is about a legendary team of 5 people too strong that each of them have to spread and move to different schools, but there was a legendary sixth player, who is the main character, Kuroko Tetsuya, and a new pro player, Kagami Taiga who swore to beat all other 5 legendary players.

Even with many basketball tournaments the story in itself is well-built and goes very smoothly too, but I do feel some of the tournaments were very long that some matches take about 4 episodes, and that how the main team win was sometime forceful (they almost always win by 1 single point, wow!)

ANIMATION

The animation was probably the richest aspect of this anime, it generally already have a good character design (with the heights and weights of a basketball player) and a good movement animation since it's all about basketball so the screen will move all the time. The 3D effects and animation was simply amazing and very real, it will make you think as if those magical passes were really possible to do in real life (well it is, as long as you practice the whole time). I especially like how the power/ability of each character was animated, like Kuroko's passes, Kagami's blocks and Aomine's speed-dribble.

Yeah, dat pass.

SOUND

The opening song is very very good and the pictures really tells you to watch it! But the ending song is sadly not that good (at least for me). The soundtrack covers a huge spot that each characters have their own theme song, so you won't get bored easily! Not to mention that the OST is really awesome and suits the pressure of the match. The characters' voice actor on the other hand is normally fine, nothing special. But the sound of the squeaking shoes, basketball dribbles, and dunks/shoots were really real and awesome!

CHARACTERS

Personally, I like all the characters, they all have different personalities and abilities to themselves that always amuses me. Especially Aomine Daiki who really suits being the main antagonist. I also especially like Kagami Taiga's development of feelings and power throughout the series, it really amazed me how he has changed and developed. On the other hand, since the ones focused on were Kuroko, Kagami and the other 5 legendary players, the other players and the bench players lacks screen time, some don't even give their names. But I like how the other players of a team who were not playing was given a screen time, like how they come to watch the match, or they suddenly meet somewhere after the match, especially if it's between those 5 legendary players, it really boils my blood!

ENJOYMENT

I personally really really enjoy this anime, FYI it's one of the anime I enjoy the most! For me, I loved watching the matches where each individual show off their abilities in a very cool way. Therefore I really recommend this anime to you sport-lovers because this is gonna boil your blood! And for those who don't like sports or basketball, I still recommend you, because it has a good story and very good animation. I once suggested my friend who doesn't like basketball at all to watch this, and guess what, he finished in in a day! He said that even if he didn't really like basketball it still excites him to see the very cool abilities animated and the story. So please enjoy! :D

Usually I don't watch sports anime but I decided to give Kuroko no Basuke a try and fell in love with it. The intense emotions and determination on the court kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see how they would win against the other team despite the odds. Although there is little character development you learn enough about them to know how their minds work and what their personalities are like. Overall a very enjoyable anime.
