So after having watched 12 episodes of Mirai Nikki (TV) and being thoroughly impressed by it, I decided it would be worth spending the 8 minutes it takes to watch the Mirai Nikki OVA.In my honest opinion this is more of a preview or a commercial than anything else. Scenes switch so fast without any explanation that it is next to impossible to tell what is happening unless you have watched the show like I have. In fact, it appears they squeezed the first 2 episodes into this 8 minute long ova. So if you think about it this is just pretty much an 8 minute long trailer. So overall I rate this trailer a 3, simply because I feel this wasn't meant to be watched as anything other than a preview; if it was the actual anime adaptation I would have given it a 1. It does serve its purpose as a preview though and I'm sure if you were a Mirai Nikki fan before October 9, 2011 this might have been cool to see, but today it serves no real purpose.

This OVA is... Okay but nothing outstanding, It dose a decent job for the 8 minuets it is. But if you do not read the manga you will be completely lost and confused with what's going on.Story - 5/10 - The story is basically the first few chapters from the manga. You quickly get briefed about the phones and then its like a time skip form one point to another missing out vital details that's in the manga. But seeing as it is only 8 mins long it couldn't be helped.. But without reading the manga you probably didn't have the foggiest what's going on.Art - 8/10 - I actually really really really liked the art in this, And the fact that they made Deus with CGI gave him this.. godly feel like that he was something "more" than the 2 dimensional Yuno and Yuki was. Some people didn't actually like that they did this with him, But I did.Sound - 8/10 - Basically knowing that YUI did the song at the end gave it the 7/10, Other than that the music in the actually OVA was fine, Nothing bad, But nothing "outstanding". But what boosted it up was I think they picked the perfect voice actors to play Yuki and Yuno, I feel like they did a great job and they sounded exactly as I imagined them to!Character - 6/10 - I feel like they did do a good job with Yuki, with getting out how needy he is of Yuno and how.. "weak" he can be and also how lonely he was within the 8 minuets, The let down was that they didn't show the "Real Yuno" If you dont know what I mean you probably haven't read the manga!Enjoyment - 8/10 - I asked my friend to watch this OVA and give me opinion on it as well seeing as he hasn't read the manga. For me being a fan of the manga I really enjoyed seeing Yuno and Yuki and everyone animated and hearing a voice to them too. It also felt nice and refreshing and nostalgic like watching a recap of the first chapters, So I really enjoyed this OVA. As for my friend, He gave it a 5/10, He enjoyed it as well, But as expected he didn't have a freaking clue what was going on.Overall - 6/10 - Considering everything I think a 6/10 is a fair choice, It was a good ova especially seeing as it only had 8 mins, BUT it felt too rushed and it is a bit too confusing for new people who haven't read the manga. But other than that they did a great job!
