Assassination Classroom
暗殺教室When a mysterious creature chops the moon down to a permanent crescent, the students of class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Middle School find themselves confronted with an enormous task: assassinate the creature responsible for the disaster before Earth suffers a similar fate. However, the monster, dubbed Koro-sensei (the indestructible teacher), is able to fly at speeds of up to Mach 20, which he demonstrates freely, leaving any attempt to subdue him in his extraterrestrial dust. Furthermore, the misfits of 3-E soon find that the strange, tentacled beast is more than just indomitable—he is the best teacher they have ever had! Adapted from the humorous hit manga by Yuusei Matsui, Ansatsu Kyoushitsu tells the story of these junior high pupils as they polish their assassination skills and grow in order to stand strong against the oppressive school system, their own life problems, and one day, Koro-sensei. It's hard for many of us to remember the problems we had as high school students. I mean, sure, there are the usual problems; class drama, gossiping, crushes that went nowhere and so on. But a lot of us tend to forget the frustration that we had with grades, the idea that they're an accurate representation of the quality of a student as well as the fact that our value as individuals have been reduced to mere numbers.
In retrospect, it's kind of amazing how a lot of the things in high school that we learn mean next to nothing when we're elder. I don't recall ever needing to do calculus out of high school, and I sure as hell have no use for Physics at any point after high school thus far.
This is what Assassination Classroom ultimately revolves around; it speaks about those
frustrations that we had as high school students, and acts as a coming of age story of sorts about the characters in the show.
The story isn't believable in the slightest and acts as device to advance its themes and characters, which is very effective. The story instead mainly focuses on the comedic aspects between the students and Koro-sensei, while also balancing out the various character dynamics between not only Koro and the students, but even the students among one another.
This works extremely well, and the character interactions are a great deal of fun to watch. The contrast between the various characters and how they see studying, their love for various things and Koro-sensei is interesting and makes their characterization all the better.
While there isn't as much focus on some of the side characters as I'd hope, meaning that the show is fairly unbalanced in favor of other characters, almost everyone receives development and considering that this show is a success in Japan and that a second season is on the way, it'll only get better from this point onwards.
Another problem is the pacing of the comedy, since a lot of the various jokes don't translate well into anime format and as such makes it rather hit and miss in its presentation. Sure, most of the jokes are still funny and I even found myself laughing very hard at some of them, but the presentation certainly could have been better.
The artwork is smooth and distinct and never drops in quality from episode to episode. The animation quality is pleasant and extremely colorful to look at, though the animation and the way the characters are presented in the opening theme leaves a lot to be desired.
Overall, Assassination Classroom is a very enjoyable show that unfortunately isn't as balanced as it could have been and its comedy being rather inconsistent, especially in the beginning of the show. Those who can get past that will find a likeable cast of characters, some great comedy and a very nostalgia-feeling show (if that's even a thing), so while the show isn't for everyone it certainly is something you can check out if that strikes your fancy.

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu or Assassination Classroom is a brightly colored anime. The picture is generally vibrant and exciting, like the plot and characters. We start with Nagisa. His initial main trait is observation, but we soon learn that he's much more than a simple observer. His bloodlust is cradled behind a mask of sweet innocence; he has a pure talent for assassination; and he serves as our main character.
In addition to that, the classroom is filled with unique personalities, each character with their own individual strengths and weaknesses. Least of all, is their teacher, Koro-sensei. What is he? An octopus? An alien? We don't know. But he's bright yellow and usually wears a large, ear-splitting grin. All we know about Koro-sensei is that he will end the world in March of the next year, and that he's teaching class E.
Answers to all of our questions about him are not answered in this season, and probably will not be in the next either. Reading the manga, I did find out his story and his reasoning, etc, but it is foreshadowed in this first season. There are a few brief glimpses of his flashbacks. We see Koro-sensei and his tentacles with a woman who is clearly dying. Rubble surrounds them and light filters in from cracks in the walls. We can guess that this is his reason for everything, but the details? Who knows?
While the general mood of Ansatsu Kyoushitsu is light, it is ultimately an anime about assassination and a group of outcasts. Class E is the class of failures, an example to the rest of the school of what happens when you don't work hard enough. The principle of the school has incredibly harsh ideas and seems a bit, well, disturbed.
This season builds toward a confrontation with Takaoka. He originally presents as a friendly, father figure, but we soon learn of his power-complex and his abhorrent teaching method. He abuses his students, hitting them when they disobey or simply give him a funny look. He is twisted, and he becomes more so, as he grows into the main villain of Season 1. In the final confrontation, we see how much he truly enjoys his "revenge" and watching the faces of his former students turn to horror.
So while the majority of this anime is comedy, there are serious issues involved. Abuse is one, and it is a theme that will be developed more later, if the anime sticks to the manga plot. Another is bullying. All of class E is bullied for being failures. The students in the main building make fun of them, the teachers in the main building make fun of them, and so on; but Koro-sensei doesn't. The fact of his acceptance makes the anime uplifting even in its darkest moments.
In all, it is a feel-good sort of show, and I'm definitely looking forward to the second season.

I loved a lot the anime, so funny and a very good adaptation. Obviously there are a lot of things that the anime missed, but the anime is so prettry good! I think that's one of my favourites animes, very good comedy, the animation is good (not realistic but I liked a lot, btw is an animation show)
An 3.99 is so low for this anime, is a very good anime that deserves a 4.10 at least.

Im disappointed. Started good, but after couple of episodes it really is not.
I had high hopes of the original idea of the class trying to kill their teacher before he destroys the whole world.
The deus ex machina ending of episode 7 really made me not like this anymore.
I might not be a good writer but I know what I like and dont like.

This is a pile of steaming feces. I apologize for reverting my personality to that of an idiot, but this is exactly what that is.
Ansatsu Kyou'shit'su is an anime that tells the tale of a yellow tentacle-like extraterrestrial suddenly appearing on earth, with no seemingly other motive but to destroy it within a year. Instead of panicking and thinking of a logical strategy on how to obliterate it, the Japanese keeps the secret of it's arrival to themselves and tells no one else, but the principal of a certain high school. This alien proceeds to give the Japanese government a list of demands and goes off to teach this one very specific high school, to which I have no knowledge of knowing it's particular name. The alien settles to teach the lowest of the low from the school, that happen to be called Class-E though never explaining why.
In some extremely vague flashback we see the alien with a female who under the cliche circumstance of dying, begs Koro (tired of identifying him as alien) with her last breath to teach Class-E. Little does little Koro know, that the students of Class-E have already been notified and told to assassinate it. Yes, the Japanese have thought long and hard to leave the disposal of earth's greatest threat to mere children.
The characters undergo little to no development and their natures have been reused numerous occasions since anime's inception, with the majority of the time centering around Nagisa and during rare times Karma. The rest of Class-E just flap their mouths spewing ridiculous, lifeless things like "Oh, Koro sensei, you so silly" and making light of the situation at hand. The main aspect that may have changed out of Nagisa is his new found ability to stand up to bullies, but other than that, the rest of the characters have not developed at all. There will be times when a new supporting character is introduced and aims to assassinate Koro, but the director refuses to let the thing die, thus they each fail much to the audience's surprise. Not much to say about Koro other than that he will change color when feeling certain emotions and cares about his students. Oh, and it's pretty dull. Also the fact that the principal and the rest of the school's faculty have some obvious grudge against Class-E that leads to their repetitive discrimination against them and the vacuous ideal of the principal in which he prefers to hold them down rather than focus with the threat is plain stupid.
The anime is filled with so many cliches and though a teacher from outer space seems new, the messages it attempts to present throughout are completely unoriginal and platitude. Similar to GTO, in the sense that Koro is trying to shape the audience up into realizing he isn't an enemy and is intentions are really for the good of his students has been done many times before. The apparent direction this series is heading in which everyone realizes Koro isn't a bad guy and was attempting to teach humanity a lifelong lesson could be seen from hell, where this anime was manufactured. I can even see that near the denouement a likely ultimatum will be given, and Koro will be forced to sacrifice his life, prompting the world to look at him as Earth's savior. Just a prediction, though I'm sure it'll happen given it's a show that doesn't care about innovation.
I wish I could give my thoughts on this anime's sound, but apparently it is nonexistent. Even if it does exist somewhere in some parallel universe, it would still be overlooked and pitiful.
Feces>Art>Story+Sound+Character
I dislike this anime so much, that I am risking my life every time by watching another episode, the comedy is terrible and makes me shiver uncomfortably and the lack of fresh characters who won't later subside is equally disturbing. Ansatsu Kyoushitsu will only appeal to those who have seen the same formula in anime, but would like to view it for the 100th time again. It is void of any excitement, is predictable, and in my opinion one of the worst anime this season.

First Impressions/Will Write Full Review when completed.
When first approaching Assassination Classroom, it will be easy to spot that this anime is truly unique. Despite having a unique-ness to it, Assassination Classroom is an anime that never tries to become something it isn't. It gives us the common coming of age story for children. Along with, sets a basic structure to what the characters' motivations are for this anime. By having basic structure it allows the story to tell what it wants to when it wants to. The story-telling is by far the most intriguing part of this anime.
Unfortunately, Assassination Classroom has a weird art style with very dark outlines and bright colors that work together to make it so the static images in the background not look so boring. However, the colors themselves when you look at them individually are very flat, and the detail on these characters are average at best. Additionally, the musical score for this anime has been rather lackluster with an awkward opening, mellow BGM during the first couple of episodes, and a lackluster ending.
However, when Assassination Classroom comes together it oddly makes for a charming and very enjoyable anime, so far. If these first couple of episodes are any indication of what Assassination Classroom is going to show, then this is a show that should be on everyone's radar.

Through the release of one episode, this one proves to be a memorable and enjoyable anime. Interesting characters come together in a weird but wonderful and highly original storyline to provide action and gag-like comedy for all to enjoy. I recommend this anime for people who enjoy lighthearted and unique plots, however Ansatsu Kyoushitsu does seem to have its own share of dark secrets. Eagerly awaiting the next episode!

*This review was made after the first episode, might be updated after more episode*
*I haven't read the manga before and don't know if it's the same or what's coming*
An alien arrive in a classroom and the students have 1 year to kill this monster before he destroy the earth. Yeah. The problem? This guy move so fast he can go eat lunch in China and be back 10 minutes later.
This anime is all about normal human finding ways to try and kill this alien and it result in a hilarious and very fun anime to watch. I can't wait to see all the plan the students will make up to try and kill this guy and I can only hope they will become even more interesting as the time goes on. I really enjoyed this first episode and once the anime ends, I'll probably go read the rest of the manga!
