A very fun & awesome anime. It's very adventurous, not one of those anime's that they stay in the same setting..
First off this anime is full of potential, this anime is a good stress reliever for any otaku/anime fan. Unlike a lot of other anime, this anime isn't ridiculous on the ecchi, basic scenarios of a lot of others. That's what really caused me to give this series a kudos/credit. The series is very heavy with the action, that's what I like. It basically keeps a good balance of comedy, action, romance & just enough patience with the love scenes to keep the viewers interested.
Another reason this anime kept my interest was because of the obsession this anime made the main character "Staz Blood" had with manga, video games, humans and in general every otaku's first anime Dragon Ball Z. I thought it was different that they made this character really his own person & standards/honor. Instead of being the vicious bad guy & being the typical "cool guy" in an shounen anime, he really admits that he takes interest in humans & honestly himself, really wants to be a good guy instead of being the basic standard evil demon..
The love he has for the second main character "Fuyumi" is really innocent & cute, even though he was planning to bite her & suck her dry, he quickly fell in love with her, more likely wanting to protect her & call her cute things like "his precious" or "his un-replaceable thing & top priority".
The anime of 10 episodes was basically enjoyable & more fun in ten episodes then I see in other anime that are 13 to 24 episodes. I HIGHLY recommend if you love action, demons, supernatural, strategy, comedy & romance like manga/anime like I do!

Blood Lad has a cliffhanger ending.
Other than that there wasn't much that was wanting in this anime. The overall story was interesting and had a rather original plot. It didn't go too fast or too slow and there weren't too many hentai-ish moments.
So it's basically about a vampire who doesn't like the stereo typical blood-drinking, aristocratic vampire who wears long, black capes. Instead he likes things that humans make - mostly Japanese manga, games, and anime. He could be considered as a hypocrite because although he says he hates all things vampire, he still uses his vampiric powers. And when he finally meets a human he does in fact want to drink her blood.
The above mentioned human (Fuyumi) appears in Staz's (the vampire) territory and dies before Staz can take even a sip of her blood. So Staz, being the hypocrite that he is, sets out to find a way to bring her back to life. Along the way they meet a variety of characters which include a level-headed spacial magic user, an angsty teenage werewolf, and a sadistic elder brother, among others.
I don't want to be a spoiler for those who haven't watched this yet so I'll just say that any things happen throughout the story and ending with a new major problem stacked on top of slightly less major problems.
Overall I really like Blood Lad and recommend it to people who like a story with comedic and almost nonsensical scenes and don't mind a little hentai.
I give this anime a 9 out of ten, because the ending, while showing that there will probably(hopefully) be a season two, just leaves too much hanging - at least for my tastes.

It was a decent story but the ending to season 1 really feels incomplete, the characters just started to develop by the end of the season. So hopefully when season 2 is released it will round out the story and make it more complete with regards to resolving the main plot problem.

Personally I have limited experience on watching vampire-related series, however I would say that Blood Lad takes a very unconventional take on your typical blood-sucking creature.
Staz (main protagonist) is a vampire of noble blood, who dislikes his nobility, and is profoundly obsessed with the human world; more accurately he loves manga. He's the lazy ass boss of his respective territory who has very little regard for his responsibilities.
With such a laid-back attitude, Staz decides to take upon the great task: the revival of a human, Fuyumi. Being a complete fanboy in manga and Japanese people and culture in general, upon his initial meeting with Fuyumi he is completely overwhelmed by her. Soon after, Fuyumi meets her death and inevitably becomes a ghost! Henceforth, Staz decides to revive her.
His difficult journey is nothing as serious as it may seem, and consists of very laughter-rich material.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a laugh; it an absolutely hilarious, rich-in-comedy, light hearted, action series, with a sprinkle of fan service. The consistent flow of entertainment with appropriate tension and drama greatly adds to the comedy.
Honestly I would say that the main thing which pushes he to watch more of this anime it's comedy, not the fan service ;) There are several amusing jokes and puns (related to his manga craze) which will definitley tickle your humor.
Recommend, do watch.
