Book Four is set three years after the previous season. It deals with Avatar Korra's journey of self-discovery following the physical and psychological injuries she incurred in the fight with Zaheer and with unrest in the Earth Kingdom where Kuvira, formerly an officer in Suyin Beifong's service, seeks to seize power by military force. Honestly, in my opinion Korra just doesn’t stack up to ATLA when taken as a whole comparing the two series to each other. However, if you break them down into books, books 3 and 4 of Korra are the two best seasons of Avatar ever released. I actually almost didn’t watch them after book two, but am incredibly glad that I stuck it out.

Legend of Korra is, hands down, my favorite series in the Avatar-verse. I was hooked from episode 1 of book 1. This final season does not disappoint, and has, perhaps, one of the greatest final episodes I've seen. The story is compelling, the characters are deep and do not fall flat.
Much love to this series.

"I finally understand why I had to go through all that. I needed to understand what true suffering was so I could become more compassionate to others. Even to people like Kuvira."

The Legend of Korra is one of those spin offs that you can't watch when you're still fresh off the Avatar bandwagon. It has to be treated as a separate commodity or otherwise it just won't be as good as it is in your mind. First time you watch it you just have to refrain from nitpicking because it's going to be different obviously."

Anyway, getting back to Book 4 itself. Book 4 was incredible. The character's development and the introduction to new characters was just, on point. Even though Nickelodeon gave them such a small budget, they did extremely well not to make it feel rushed and underdone. It didn't feel rushed to me at all. And that in itself, is an achievement worthy of an award.

The story was in my opinion the best since Book 1. The parallels and yet big differences between Korra and Kuvira is really interesting. Hearing about Kuvira and her not just being a ruthless dictator but her having an actual reason to take control of the Earth Empire was really different and I appreciated it a lot. I loved how they showed how corrupt someone could get very quickly if given enough power and confidence. Not only is Korra battling her demons, from the last season, but also from within herself. She's still trying to find peace after everything that has happened. All the while trying to take down Kuvira. I respect Korra a lot because of that. I also love how the ending wasn't focused on once and for all deciding on the whole, Mako or Asami thing. The ending is how you interpret it. It was just a nice ending I loved it a lot.

The sound is as always, impeccable. I always love the soundtrack for all the avatar series. This one is no different.

We also got a new character, Prince Wu! Who I quickly really began to love. We had return of some old characters... I don't consider this a spoiler since this was in the previews... But I was really happy when Toph came back!! The characters obviously had a lot of development in this season! In particular, I love Varrick and Prince Wu's development. I loved how calming and forgiving Korra was by the end of the series. Su and Lin had very nice relationship this season! Loved how they learned to get over it. Yes the characters continue to be a stand out. Love them and I'm really going to miss their dynamic!

The animation is amazing! I love the spirit world and how fluid and vibrant it looks. We got to see a lot of different scenery in this season! We didn't just stay in the water tribe, or stay in republic city. No, we saw the Spirit Wilds, Republic City, we saw the Water Tribe for a bit? In terms of set design, this book probably has the most variety.

This was definitely my favourite season. And I won't spoil the ending, but it's definitely because of the ending!

Spoilers may be present so proceed with caution

Ever since I started watching the Legend of Korra series, I hear viewers complain about how they dislike Korra. They says she's too cocky and loud, when compared to the much humbler Aang from TLA series. That's just because in TLA, most people were living in fear of the fire nation, creating a frightened world community which defaces joy and happiness. In Legend of Korra however, this looming fear is no longer, allowing people to stop worrying, get out there and have fun. Korra is an example of the latter, clearly seen in the first season. Perhaps that is why I find this season of Legend of Korra is to be one of the best of the entire series.

The season takes place 3 years after the events of the third season. Here, Korra finds herself to no longer be the (arguably) strongest bender in the world. She finds herself wondering the human world to find her connection with the avatar state. Her loss of her avatar powers causes her to turn around from her peers around her, basically exiling herself.

Although it has only been 3 episodes since the start of the season, I am greatly enjoying it compared to the other seasons. Maybe it's because Korra is much more relatable. She is currently trying to find meaning in her own existence, as seen by her frequent flashbacks to the events of the third season which still haunt her 3 years later. Compared to her cocky personality seen in the first two seasons, she is starting to become a lot more like Aang.

Another bonus for this season is the introduction of the apparent antagonist, Kuvira the great uniter. She is a MUCH better villain compared to (imo) all of the other villains in both LoK and TLA and I will be very interested in her affairs later on in the season.

All in all, I am very happy with the current outlook of the season and am eagerly looking forward to what would be (i think) the conclusion to the entire TLA/LoK franchise.

I will write more on this review once the season concludes
