thats a pretty cool OAV but they dont have stay with the special style i have liked in the serie im a little sad about it but anyway you can see the graphic are a little upgrade but for me i really prefer the first style they have used in the serie so yeah in this OAV you see a new squad and characters but you see the Squad 7 a little so this is something who have happen during the serie but this is very out of subject so yeah this is pretty cool to watch because of the large of action you have in it with the little story !

This anime is an adaptation of the third Valkyria Chronicles game.  It takes place during the same time frame as the original Valkyria Chronicles and follows the story of a renegade squad that fights for Gallian Army. The show takes place before and during the battle of Dillsburg, a crucial area that needed to be secured in order to keep the empire on the defensive. During this battle the renegade squad, also known as Squad 422, interacts and helps the bogged down squad seven from the original show.

In my opinion anyone who enjoyed the original anime would enjoy this look into the expanded universe that is the Valkyria Chronicles.  The story was not all that long but kept drawing me in as it progressed.  I personally have not had a chance to play any of the games this anime is based off of but I can say that I really did enjoy it. ( I might be slightly biased towards militaristic anime's)

The animation overall did not change much from the original anime but at the same time did not show the detail that the original anime did.  Some facial features as well as some detail on the weapons and the vehicles were lost.

The sound was the biggest thing that changed from the original anime.  Many of the tanks sounds were replaced with the sounds of cars that you would normally find in a racing simulator.  Such as when the tank slams on its brakes you hear wheels screaming or when it turns it sounds like they are drifting on new tires.

The new characters were not bad.  I wasn't able to learn to much about them since the anime was only two episodes long but I can say that they could have been properly developed if the anime had continued.  All the characters from squad seven remained the same from the original anime but were not seen to much to develop them any further.

I personally really enjoyed this anime as much as did when I watched the original Valkyria Chronicles.  It allowed me to dive back into the war torn world and see some of my favorite characters fight for their lives as well as their country.

Overall i would recommend this to anyone who has watched the Valkyria Chronicles and enjoyed it.  Albeit not nessicary to fully understand the story I still feel that it adds one more level of depth to the world that they live in.
