Renkin San-kyuu Magical? Pokaan
錬金3級 まじかる?ぽか〜んRenkin San-kyuu Magical? Pokaan follows the daily lives of four young girls. There is just one catch: they are anything but normal. This group of friends—the energetic werewolf Liru, the joyful witch-in-training Uma, the motherly android Aiko, and the seductive vampire Pachira—are actually princesses from the netherworld who have traveled to the human world in search of a new home. Unfortunately, their naivety and severe lack of knowledge make living peacefully among earthlings much more difficult than they imagined. As they attempt to adapt to their brand new lifestyle, they cause all sorts of trouble, and end up attracting the unwanted attention of a woman by the name of Dr. K-Ko. The scientist believes that these new residents of Earth are up to no good and attempts to capture the girls to prove the existence of the supernatural and gain credibility with the scientific community. Every day brings a new adventure as the girls deal with the insanity of her antics and all that the human realm has to offer. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Story: Four princesses from the Netherworld go to the human world and try to take over... or something. Witch Ume, android Aiko, vampire Pachira, and wolf Liru all decide to try and live and prosper their 'normal' lives there as well as learning new things about the new place. Meanwhile the evil Dr. K-ko tries to capture the monsters in the hopes of taking over the world... or something. Never really puts any mention into that part nor is it any menacing or crucial ot the plotline, but it's there I suppose.
Sound: The OP looks cool, it's got a great music opener, the images are out there, and it's also a big tease cause nothing in the opening happens in the show. Kind of funny though :P
The ED however sucks and the images in there are lame to boot.
Animation: Animation is fluid for an old anime like this one, art looks nice for the main characters (everyone else looks like crap), and the voices aren't too bad either (with the exception of Ume, she sounds like she's been sucking on so much helium).
Characters: Liru is a pretty decent character, always having fun even in the most dire of situations, and is outgoing and spunky. Though she can be a little too selfish at times but considering the other girls, I didn't mind it as much.
Aiko is also a good character, always kind, trying to get things done and keeping things in check, and has some pretty funny lines, I think she's the best character in the show by far.
Problem is that every character in this (aside from Aiko and Liru) is unlikeable. Ume is annoying and is so ego-tistical that it's kind of satisfying to see her magic fail >:) Pachira is no better as she is not only full of ego, but brags, nags, and wants to look pretty/cool when in reality she's whiny and obnoxious (sorry if that's misspelled). K-ko has no purpose in the story despite being the antagonist. She was essentially a threat in the first episode but she lost pretty stupidly and it's never mentioned or brought up again. (Big Lipped Alligator Moment Much?) Everyone else had no presence or impact so they are not worth mentioning.
Enjoyment: While some episodes are very entertaining to watch (like the one where the girls have a contest to see who can speak the most English to Ume surviving hell) some are a bit painful to sit through cause they're either boring, stupid, or too mean spirited.
The humor is a mixed bag as well as the episodes, some are entertaining and funny, while others are painful and stupid. It's kind of hard to tell which one is which until you watch to be honest and by that time its already too late (the last one is especially painful to watch but it does have a really nice ending there so I guess that's something).
Other problem is that... sometimes the endings to an episode aren't good and it kind of feels shallow, though that is just a minor complaint and nitpick in my part as sometimes they do deserve it and I laugh at their misery (I'm a terrible person I know) >:P
Also there's fan service. Just want you to know that. You know in case it bothers you about it. It didn't distract me as much but others may... disagree on that one so, yeah.
Overall: This show is alright, nothing too great but nothing too awful in it either (ok maybe there was but it wasn't really all that bad). If you want to see a parody of magical and fantasy-like animes then I say try this and see if its up your alley.
Pros: Aiko and Liru are good characters, art and animation on the main characters look good too, the OP kicks ass, the story is also a pretty good one, though it could have been executed better.
Cons: Side characters are terrible, the ED is bad, voice work is really bad, some episodes are god awful and mean spirited, and fanservice is everywhere in this one.
