InuYasha
犬夜叉Based on the Shogakukan award-winning manga of the same name, InuYasha follows Kagome Higurashi, a fifteen-year-old girl whose normal life ends when a demon drags her into a cursed well on the grounds of her family's Shinto shrine. Instead of hitting the bottom of the well, Kagome ends up 500 years in the past during Japan's violent Sengoku period with the demon's true target, a wish-granting jewel called the Shikon Jewel, reborn inside of her. After a battle with a revived demon accidentally causes the sacred jewel to shatter, Kagome enlists the help of a young hybrid dog-demon/human named Inuyasha to help her collect the shards and prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. Joining Kagome and Inuyasha on their quest are the orphan fox-demon Shippo, the intelligent monk Miroku, and the lethal demon slayer Sango. Together, they must set aside their differences and work together to find the power granting shards spread across feudal Japan and deal with the threats that arise. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

The first anime i've ever watch, and it was of course awesome, since it had monsters and funny characters, but overall the fact that kept me watch it week after week made it so important to me, to the point that years later is still one of my favorite stories, i watch it again some months ago just to get remainded of the hole experience, and because i wanted to watch the end of it since i didn't know it back then, and also wanted to hear the voices in japanese, (i watched with spanish dub the first time), the emotion i got was really satisfying, and finally could give it some kind of closure.

This would be a very good adaptation of manga if there weren't so many changes made. The filler episodes, the added characters, the changes in characters... But overall, it's a good adaptation.

One of MANY animes that I used to watch on Adult Swim way back when I didn't even know what animes were. I love it every time they bring it back on the air for filler content. The only sad thing is Final Act. It's still the same InuYasha, but most of the more important characters have different voices and that's a pain in my heart.

I have both fond and not-so-fond memories of Inuyasha. Though I encountered anime like Pokemon and Dragon Ball beforehand, it was really Inuyasha that brought me into active awareness and enjoyment of anime. There's a feeling of nostalgia about it.
However, that doesn't excuse what I consider to be major failings of the series. Namely that it dragged on for far too long with far too little character development or really story impact. The fillers weren't bad, as fillers sometimes go, since they were about on par with the rest of the story itself. The shard-of-the-week format they chose was absolutely weak as a plot onus. It served a purpose earlier on in introducing the main cast and those important side characters, but also prolonged the fatigue associated with having one constant hands-off big bad for the entire series.
The animation and design was pretty standard, but the sound track is a saving grace for the series. Even for those that couldn't be bothered to it out to the end, the music score that accompanied Inuyasha had some amazing choices here and there.
Overall, I would neither recommend nor not recommend it. If one has the energy and dedication to see the story through to the end, more power to you. There are a few gems sprinkled here and there for you. If not, you're not missing anything utterly groundbreaking.

Inuyasha is a series I have very fond memory's....... or at least the first 2 or 3 seasons. You see Inuyasha is something me and many other people would call repetitive. Before I say anything else lets head over to....
STORY
Inuyasha has a very simple but cool story a High School student called Kagome (yes a girl in high school is the main protagonist of this even though you would think the guy who the show is named after would be) gets dragged into a well by a centipede chick she meets Inuyasha he kills the centipede blah blah blah. Then of course a sacred jewel get destroyed and shattered around the world and Inuyasha and Kagome have to get all the pieces. It's a very simple plot that anyone could enjoy and the show is very fun and can be a bit emotional.... in the first 2 or 3 seasons. It is very repetitive though it's essential a battle happens Inuyasha gets hurt everyone else trys to hold off the enemy until Inuyasha heals and cuts the monster up and throughout the series Inuyasha learns some quite cool moves through his sword. Oh yeah keep in mind this happens for over 160 episodes or 190 if you count the final act. This happens in many anime but soon you will know why Inuyasha probably suffers the most from it.
I Give The Story of Inuyasha 6/10
Animation
I would say the animation is one of the things Inuyasha shines in. When you compare it to other anime from the early 2000s I would say it looks better. Feudal Japan has many colours and the fights are animated excellently Inuyashas animation easily gets 7/10
Sound
Sound and music is another plus. The sound affects are epic whether it's Inuyashas sword slashing through a demon or things blowing up it always sound cool. The music is amazing! When it wants to make you feel pumped up it makes you feel pumped up. When it wants you to feel sad it makes you feel sad. It can also be very eerie at times and whenever it cuts to a commercial break it always play this one short track that makes you want to know whats next. The Dub is nice too. The voices really stick with you and each voice fits each role perfectly.
Inuyashas sound gets 8/10
Characters
This is were everything falls apart. The characters are great you have Inuyasha the half demon half human who trys to hide his emotions. Kagome the winy school girl who at first hates Inuyasha but then loves him. Songo the demon slayer whos village was massacred by Naraku. Miroku the perverted monk who was cursed by Naraku and will eventually die. Seshomaru Inuyashas full demon brother who hates Inuyasha because his father intrusted Inuyasha with his fang. Kikyo the girl who just would not DAMN DIE and of course the epic villain Naraku. Lets first talk about Naraku. Naraku starts off all badass as one of those silent but powerfull as hell villains who Inuyasha wants to have his revenge on because spoilers. Sadly the more the story progresses the more stupid he gets. Here is the BIGGEST FLAW! You know that thing in anime called arcs, sagas, hell even voyages well the creator of Inuyasha didn't NARAKU IS A VILLAIN FOR THE WHOLE SHOW OVER 160 episodes. Guess what though at the end of Inuyasha they still didn't even kill him. They made the final act like ten years later but still that a different series and I WILL NOT let that save this show. Then there's Kikyo Inuyashas love interest untill SPOILERS. She was a strong character at first and near the end of Inuyasha they kind of kill her off. If you don't want anymore spoilers skip to the next section NOW! I was very very sad when she was killed and it was a very strong point in the series. Sadly in the final act they brought her back killed her in a way less emotional way. Because that's a different series though I wont hold that against this show though.
Inuyashas Characters get 6/10
Enjoyment
I will rank the enjoyment of Inuyasha now for each seven seasons.
Season one 7.5/10
Season 2 8/10
Season 3 7/10
Season 4 6.8/10
Season 5 6/10
Season 6 6.5/10
Season 7 5.5/10
Overall
Inuyasha is ok at the start and bad at the end so. Sadly it's great animation and legendary soundtrack were not able to save it... but wait there is one more thing that I feel can help this show. THE OPENINGS AND ENDINGS. Season one has a great catchy opening tune that will get stuck in your head, and a memorable first ending song and an amazing second ending song. Season 2 has one of my top 15 favorite anime themes possibly top 10 and a very emotional ending theme song that almost always almost makes me cry. The rest is good a little bad and a couple great ones.
Would I recommend this show NO! Unless you have fond memory's of it like me. Luckily though Inuyasha has been saved by it's wicked sound track, ops and ends, and animation from being on the $hit list
OVERALL INUYASHA GETS 6.2/10
INUYASHA GETS A PASS (just barely though)

Inuyasha was one of the firsts animes that I had seen and I love it. I just love it.
I have to admmit that Inuyasha story sucks. It's simple and with many fillers (many many many maaaany fillers!). But the characters are awesome. Really, just look to them design or everything else.
The girls, Kagome, Kikyo and Sango, are awesome. Sango in the begnning it's more powerfull than Inuyasha him self. Kagome is mpre powerfull than everyone until the end. She just screamed and POW the biggest enemie it's dead. I hate Kikyo, but she is a good caracter I have to admmit. Her style is kind of kuudere. But they're kind, Sango is sooooo graceful! She always refere to Miroku using "sama" and calling him monk. It's so cute. Kagome it's kind of tsundere but more kind, and more "girly". They all have a awesome design too, Sango clothes are awesome, and Kagome uniform too. And Kikyo's miko outfit totally fits in her.
The boys, Miroku, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru are great too. Miroku is my favorite one. I love this pervert monk. The idea of him always using the same sung it's kind of cool, but the idea to make this sung work out it's incredible. Make the anime really funny. Inuyasha it's like any other Rumiko's protagonist, angry on out side, but kind and cute on the in side. He totally fits with Kagome and I trully felt in love with him during the anime. Sesshomaru it's awesome. See Inuyasha and you will agree with me. It's so true and cute the way that Rin change him.
Anyway the anime is save buy his awesome caracters that fit in good in allll the fillers ( maybe not in all of them, but they usually fit).
I trully recomended

Regardless of what the majority of the people that I know that watch anime say, and as it seems the majority of people who watch anime as a whole say. I really like InuYasha. It has humor, action, a pretty decent story. A number of interesting characters. And it's one of the few anime's that, I could argue, sound better with the dubbed English voice actors. Hate on me all you want. I like this anime.

I'm watching anime since my childhood and InuYasha is one them and in fact one of the anime which had the biggest impact on me.Sure, being a guy and to tell people that I watched InuYasha and Sailor moon might not be the most normal thing in the world, however these were one of my favorite anime and I'm happy that they introduced me to anime.
Inuyasha which is done by Kyoto animation,Sunrsie and by the famous(and one of the richest and most successful) Japanese manga artists who is also behind Ranma 1/2,InuYasha remains one old time classic what many people love to hate.
The Good old days:Coming back from scool and turning on TV and watcing InuYasha felt amazing.InuYasha is a really enjoyable show,it has a perfect mix of action, comedy and emotions. While I will admit that there's not a lot of character development and that the story could be better I can't deny that InuYasha is overall a pretty good anime.InuYasha is and was a very good anime for it's time but it's concept and all ideas are now outdated and I can't see it working and actually recommending to never generations.
Do I recommend InuYasha? The answer is no I don't.I give it some credit for the nostalgia but I can't deny it flaws.Everyone who would go now and start watching InuYasha would find it at best mediocre and not more even though InuYasha was and still is one of the most popular anime ever made but it never turned out to become a real classic or something what everyone could watch like Cowboy Bebop or Fullmetal alchemist. The only people I would recommend InuYasha would be people who watched sailor moon,Ranma 1/2,dragonball or Yu Yu Hakusho, everyone who came to anime because of Naruto and Bleach will be dissapointed with this series.

Honestly, due to the intense recommendations and honorifics this series receives, I was starkly disappointed by the lack of depth. This show drags on far too long for the lack of character development and plot present. It really reflects the past ages of anime, as many animators have noticed stories', like Inuyasha's, shortcomings, and have adapted to make modern anime as we know it.
Overall, Inuyasha remains an "alright" anime, yet doesn't reach beyond that. Don't be fooled by its fame, Inuyasha is sub-par.
