Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma
食戟のソーマEver since he was a child, fifteen-year-old Souma Yukihira has helped his father by working as the sous chef in the restaurant his father runs and owns. Throughout the years, Souma developed a passion for entertaining his customers with his creative, skilled, and daring culinary creations. His dream is to someday own his family's restaurant as its head chef. Yet when his father suddenly decides to close the restaurant to test his cooking abilities in restaurants around the world, he sends Souma to Tootsuki Culinary Academy, an elite cooking school where only 10 percent of the students graduate. The institution is famous for its "Shokugeki" or "food wars," where students face off in intense, high-stakes cooking showdowns. As Souma and his new schoolmates struggle to survive the extreme lifestyle of Tootsuki, more and greater challenges await him, putting his years of learning under his father to the test. *I swear. If you're a pussy, leave.*
This review has been written while the show is still only half aired
Shokugeki no souma is the funniest fucking anime I've ever watched. Its got the fucking best MC. This show doesn't fuck around either. Each character is unique and original and are rarely played off of typical stereotypes. The shows animation is top notch as well. Who knew you could get goosebumps from fictional characters chopping up vegetables? The show is fast paced easily accessible, always leaving you wanting more. I guarantee that you could only have an interest in the most deranged fucked up shit and you'd still be able to sit down and enjoy this masterpiece.

I came into this anime planning to watch it ironically since this isn't usually my sort of thing. But I quickly found myself wrapped up in the story and characters. It's very over the top about how important cooking is, yet that only makes the "Shokugeki" scenes that much more intense.
Watching a montage of the MC cooking while cliche Japanese folk played in the background was both amusing and exciting at the same time. Some episodes would leave cliffhangers that would make my balls more blue than the Alliance fleet. (WoW joke)
But it does have the dreaded "ecchi" scenes. Which I will never understand. Why have eroticism in an anime when the average person who watches it probably knows fifteen porn sites. Thankfully they don't last too long and the story moves along before it starts taking up too much of the run time.

It is epic and ecchi at the same time. I like it very much. The battles are intense and the food reactions are so erotic. ITS PERFECT!!!

I am not very fond of ecchi, that I'm not, and for this anime, you expect there to be someone having an orgasm after the first bite of a deliciously created dish. I really find ecchi distasteful but I do not mind as long as something else will catch my attention in every episode. For the case of Shokugeki no Souma, it's the food, jesus, the food! I have read all the manga and I am very excited for is anime adaptation. So far, so good.

A Interesting anime with both cooking/food, comedy and 'porn'???
A guy with surprising talent Soma Yukihira works at a small restaurant with his dad.But one day due to work, his dad had to go overseas, leaving Soma to a culinary academy where the graduation rate is only 10%. Soma with his determination and skills enters the academy in hopes of graduating, competing against other students and all the while evolving.
Not as good with ratings as I suck at placing numbers.. haha :D

All these Japanese styles over the top random crazy anime and manga always seem to never have the depth or the intriguing flare that I crave, however, this manga has been one of the most entertaining works I’ve had the pleasure of reading. Any other cooking shows pale in comparison to its intensity. The
show is animated beautifully, and has one hell of an epic soundtrack.
My only complaint would be that it doesn’t take itself seriously, hear me out. The show itself has intense, serious moments, but all too often instead of using clever writing and (more) intellectual explanations of what the charterers are thinking, they “cop out.” Using chibi animations comedic sound effects that sere to add greatly to some situations, while in other parts, jar the experience. To say this only takes away from the experience wouldn’t be a correct choice of words, its only that it skipped an opportunity in making itself legend in order to appeal to a larger audience. I’m fine with this as it didn’t affect most of the show and from what I’ve read in the manga it weans away from this behavior and
become’s even more intense.
Many anime’s find themselves fading away in the memories of people due to generic worry writing and generic interactions, Food Wars, on the other hand, makes sure that the show has its own unique appeal. Overall the show holds its own but at times lacks the certain impact or narrative that it
could at certain parts.
Overall, like in the video explained above, you should watch Food Wars. Its overall a very cohesive experience and doesn’t disappoint with its high octane action and great characters.
9/10 Final verdict: Watch for the food and the fun, stay for the characters and the insanity.
