This is one of those series's that could easily be great, yet proves a bit of a trap by kicking off to a great start, only to slow down drastically. The pace is slow, the initial story is fine and that characters are of the most basic, I'll delve further...Plenty of grusome scenery to start off with as a villian comes into place and his only true opponent is a little girl, however, the villian is connected to another main, he flits in and out of the story, a backstory to make the audience feel sorry for him has been put in place. He hasn't really done anything since the start; his 'villan tendancies' have been dramatically downplayed and we don't see much of him. Ontop of this, the girl we assume is destined to go up against him has bearly progressed. To add to this, we now have a potential villian directly connected with the young main, yet do we see much of him? No. Do the characters take him seriously? NoAdding further, there now seems to be yet another devious character in the mix, as if there weren't enough potential pests who haven't been developed yet.As stated previously, the story seems fine; controlloing 'robots' leaves endless possibilities and the cast of adults don't limit the direction of the stroy the same way a cast of children may do.The characters are potentially the major problem, they're what many of us 'anime veterans' could label 'typical', we have:- the moe who requires a string of possitive attention- the passive, quite main male amungst girls- the 'dangerous' and 'cool' bishounen villian- big chested girl with little relivance in the storyWhat's makes the incorporation of these character types worst is, they're the mains, don't display too much individuality and haven't really developed, they just seem to plod along the episode doing stuff that aren't too memmorable; the odd backstory or revelation thrown in from time to time to keep the audience interested. All in all, the story is decent, the first episode is a bait and switch and just as you hope to get to know one or two characters, more people are bought in.
