It's back, Ai Mai Mi is a show that quite honestly I did not expect of all shows to get another season. Now I know worse shows that don't deserve more seasons and I didn't really hate the first season of this, I considered it to be a guilty pleasure in fact. So now that there's another season of this, will it be a guilty pleasure like before, will it turn out to be better than anticipated, or will end up being worse and a giant waste of time? Let's find out.
Story: For those who haven't seen the first season of this show, the story is basically the same thing. Four girls are in a manga club where they, for the most part, do everything except actually make manga and there's so much hijinks ensuing, kind of like Teekyu in a way. Well I say for the most part cause they do in one episode actually try and [attempt to]make manga, which I gotta admit, was really charming and funny in a good way, and I know it isn't much considering they do less of it then the first but its definitely better handled here.
The humor is still pretty bad, but in a laughable way. Part of what makes them work here is the how over the top and crazy they animate some of the scenarios in this. Ok its not as crazy as FLCL (especially since its got a small budget, I mean judging from the animation) but... yea its not that crazy but it still kind of works in a bizarre fashion. And it gets so stupid at points I just can't help but snicker a bit.
Another thing I also like is the surprising amount of character development and heartwarming scenes in this... or at least there attempts at it at least. The first seasons' attempts felt forced and hazily rushed and I honestly didn't care much about what was going to happen but here it wasn't so bad. I liked how there were some actual emotions out of their voices that made me care a little bit about them... though it wasn't much but I still liked that they tried. Even the ending wasn't all that bad this time around... compared to the first season.
Animation: Sadly they still have that god awful artwork and character designs look silly just like before. The expressions get real freaky this time, especially those intros O.O
But hey it at the very least adds to the randomness and 'charm' I suppose. And those awesome pixels are back in the closing credits :D
Sound: Voice acting is again, passable, but thanks to those scenes from above it does fare a little better. Also the ending song isn't quite as good as the first its still really catchy.

Character: Now here's the really weird thing about all this... although they were for the most part the same and acted like watered down versions of TRG yet again, I didn't hate them quite as much.
Ai actually acted like a serious voice of reason at points while still showing some humanity in her, Mi actually acted like she cared about her friends and didn' always act over the top and goofy, and Mai wasn't nearly as big a jerk, though she's still my least favorite. Poko was pretty downplayed and not as entertaining but she still was when she got on screen. There were other characters in this too I think but I don't remember them... or actually care.
Enjoyment: Same as before only slightly better with some added scenes of kindness, charm, and an actually not bad ending this time around... its still not a good show by any means but I still enjoyed it for what it was.
Overall: Still a catastrophe, but I still find it enjoyable. If you liked the first season and/or want to watch with to laugh then you'll definitely love this season...
Also Recommend: SeHisCool Girls (bad animation and jokes, but still nice characters and ending), Amuri In Star Ocean (for laughing at how bad it is... I've been recommending this a lot haven't I?), Teekyu (for just being weird).
Thanks for reading my... 83.5th review? 84th? I'm not sure...? Ah whatever, see you guys real soon...

Ai Mai Mi is probably one of the greatest shorts that I've ever watched. If you are thinking about passing it up, think again and redeem yourself by watching this.
Plot: Its about a manga artist club that may or may not make any manga.
Animation: At times lacking but it very much so sets the mood.
Characters: Almost deeper than puddles on the sidewalk.
Enjoyment: I now have a six pack just from laughing due to this show.
Overall: 10/10 I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes comedy.
