Seeing this on YouTube labeled as "The Most F**cked up Japanese Animation You'll Ever See!! TENSHI DROP", I knew I was in for a surprise. 

While most of the comments on YouTube do label it as weird and fucked up, for me it's just...eh. 

Watching it once, yeah was pretty weird. But by the second time, you kinda get used to it.

Of course I could've not done a review and just have it slowly slip from my weird as one of the strangest things I've seen, but one commenter on YouTube caught my interest. It goes as following;

"This scene actually represents the anxiety of young girls transitioning into womanhood." 

Of course there was more to the comment but I think this sentence alone summarizes it. Maybe it was just trying to be the next DyE-Fantasy and Me!Me!Me! Music video in strangeness, creepiness, and weirdness factor but actually has a message. 

Probably the weirdest way to give a message about a young girl's perspective on becoming a woman but hey, I'll give them props for that.

Angel's Drop does what so very few anime can accomplish. Moving me to tears.

Story

It is the heartwarming story of a girl who wants to have a tea party with angels, heartstrings were pulled. 10/10

Animation

Boy oh boy, when I saw those mushrooms, I knew the animators were on to something. 9/10

Sound

No holds barred accurate and compelling sound design. 9/10

Character

Angel's drop introduces a cast of three characters you genuinely care for. 10/10

Enjoyment

Isn't it clear? I loved this anime. 10/10

Tenshi no Drop, or as I like to call it, Amazing no bad is an anime that gives you hope in your meaningless life. Their excellent use of Japanese vernacular and terminology as well as their great storytelling capabilities has made this ova one of my favorites. The show has a wide variety of interesting characters that captivate you through the whole episode. Too bad it was short, or I would give this a good 9/10. I especially enjoyed the main character's determination and spirit to accomplish what she desires and the subtle adult humor and tones within the middle of the story. In the end I would give this a 8/10.

Normally I talk about the story first and fore most, but I feel that I should save the absolute worst for last. Let's talk about the other stuff first.... shall we?

Animation: It's sub par, not to good, but not to bad either. 5/10

Art: Looks unoriginal and uninspiring, characters look bleak, backdrops are ordinarly bad, and its weird, especially with a certain 'twist' at the end that they just had to draw and animate. 3/10

Sound: All the characters voices are ok at best with some minor exceptions... too bad its ruined by every stupid dialogue that was said here. 2/10

Characters: Oh boy... well Botan is pretty bland in personality per se. Her friend is really annoying and perverted (hell, her very first introduction was to kiss her best friend... and this isn't even a yuri anime!) The angel (yes, roll with it for now) is a mix of both of them with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. 2/10

Story: The story is the worst. No joke, this has to be the single most pathetic, stupid, nonsensical, pointless, absurd, retarded story/premise I have ever seen in my entire life! And I just sat through Save Me Lollipop and Powerpuff Girls Z and even made reviews on those... HOW DO YOU ACCOMPLISH SOMETHING LIKE THAT IN FIVE MINUTES!? FIVE!?

Ok so um... get this... there is this girl who goes to St. Asmaria All-Girl's School (a place where angels go, pay attention to this cause this is important... maybe) so she can plan a tea party with some friends (that's the only reason) and she gets caught by her friend (can't remember name) and she kisses her. That 40 seconds out of 5 minutes was unnessasary and pointless. Oh but that's the highlight of the show, now it goes downhill, extremely fast. Botan and her friend walk in and fall through the floor, hitting the boards and landing on their crotches. Botan cries while her friend laughs about it. Hur hur, at least they aren't boys, hurdy hur hur.

Another girl falls through the boards on the floor above them and the friend comments on how the girl she thinks is Botan for some reason did she go through a portal or something? is not wearing any panties. Har har. The girl falls through and offers them to eat her halo which for some reason looks like a donut and the two happily agree. That's not the stupid part. Once they do that though they find that they have cramps in their stomach and are told by the angel that they will 'give birth' to colorful mushrooms. That's not the stupid part either. The stupid part is that apparently the angel says that if you eat a thousand of these (and her halo keeps respawning? Why?) they will have their wish come true, and the friend agrees to eat more of these things! It's also very clear that it hurts the girls and there going through birth... and they're probably only middle schoolers judging by their looks!

Meanwhile, two other girls rush over and one of them has her eyes covered by a headband(?) while taking her clothes off and making perverted (but disturbing comments) and the other girl? She pisses herself. And yes, you actually see the yellow urine all over her legs as she does this! So not only is this pointless, disgusting, and rancid, it's also HOW THEY DECIDE TO END THIS CRAPPY THING!!!! I MEAN REALLY!? ON THAT NOTE!?!?!?!? 0/10

Ugh, this was not a fun one to look at. I was curious on how this only got one episode with 5 minutes of... whatever, and now I can see why. I wish I never saw this sooner, but I might have to eat more of those donuts so no thank you!

Overall: This made me feel unclean, I lost my appetite after watching this, and I am probably never going to eat donuts again. Thanks a lot anime. People, please do not make the same mistake as I did and stay away from this anime unless you want to feel sick afterwards.
